Blindness and Cancer set us back but will never destroy us. Anything Helps.

Hello everyone, we are the Bakers (Timothy, LaQuisha, and Little Tim). Unfortunately, Ever since LaQuisha got really sick and lost her eyesight, things have slowly gone downhill financially and our household income depends solely on myself (Tim) while also having to handle all the other household responsibilities. However I was recently diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer and have had to go through treatments and periods of being out of work which has also set us back. Work has also been slow lately and I only work three 12-hour shifts a week, so missing a day or two on my paycheck really affects everything, and instead of being able to get ahead of things, we just keep slowly falling more and more behind with medical bills piling up, and have to use credit cards to pay for bills our utilities and even had to take money from them for rent. Anything would truly help us and we know that sometimes people think that giving a small donation isn't worth it but everything adds up and is greatly appreciated.

At this point, we are just trying to get ahead of everything so that we don't have to worry about not having anywhere to stay. Anyone who knows us should know that this is almost embarrassing for us because we are usually very private with our problems and we don't like to burden or ask anyone for anything. This is very hard to do but sometimes you just don't know what to do when you're falling behind.

Love, the Bakers

Being an operations manager and legally blind

Does anybody know anyone or has heard of anyone becoming an operations manager at a warehouse while being legally blind? My wife was almost done here degrees to become one when she became blind and she wants to know if she can finish and still pursue her career?

My wife lost her eyesight after getting sick. I NEED HELP

Hello I just wanted to get on here and get some help with stuff for my wife. My wife recently had pancreatitis and a bowel blockage that gave her sepsis and basically killed the nerve endings to her eyes. It is a very big adjustment for us especially having an 8 year old son that has autism and it's hard for him to understand Mommy can't see him anymore. I'm trying to find all the help I can with programs or assistance that will help us during this transition into our new lifestyle.

Buying from the second hand market??

Is no one buying bags from the second hand market anymore either? I've been trying to sell off the last little bit of my collection I have and it seems no one wants to buy anymore. I have them up on Mercari, eBay, FB Marketplace ect and reasonable prices but it seems people just stop buying???

Common law marriage

So my legally blind girlfriend that I've been with for 10 years recently had her IHSS hours reduced due to them saying that we are technically considered common law married and she doesn't qualify for all of the hours because I am considered her spouse and it's my job or duty. It happened when we had to recertify and they realized our son just turned 8 years old. Does anyone know if they are allowed to consider us common law married without them asking us how long we've been together?
