Do people like to read over-the-top books?

So I posted about this question before and unfortunately confused “campy” with “satire”. If anyone saw my last post before I deleted it, thank you so much for helping me realize my mistakes 🙏

For a while, I’ve been working on a story of mine that I am really proud of, but sometimes I get tired of writing something so heartfelt and serious. Lately, I’ve started experimenting with campy, over-the-top, silly stories on the side that aren’t meant to be taken seriously but are written like they want to be.

I’m wondering if people like reading these type of stories. Should I try to put them out on Amazon KDP? I don’t want to put something out there if people aren’t interested. To clarify, I wouldn’t stop writing them because it brings me a silly outlet and joy, but is all the research and proofreading time worth it just for no one to enjoy it?

I also wouldn’t want the humorous stories to be tied to my more serious pen name. I’m curious if it’s acceptable to be under two separate names for different genres.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Opinions on Satirical Novels?

I’m not entirely certain if this is the best subreddit to make such inquiries on, but it’s worth a shot.

Simply, I enjoy writing. Lately, I’ve been having some fun experimenting with romance stories that are supposed to be bad. It helps me not think of realistic details because it is supposed to be bad, terrible even. I’m just wondering if they are worth publishing (Amazon KDP because I’m too broke to get officially published). Would people want to pay to read that? I don’t want to go through the trouble writing, editing, proofreading, and self publishing if no one is going to enjoy my work.

Any and all advice would be appreciated. 🙏

Kitty is Growing Distant

So I know this is completely normal. My male kitty just hit the ten month mark, the prime time for their transition to adulthood. For a while, he has stopped cuddling and following me around as much. Instead, he’s been spending more time with my brother while I haven’t heard him purr for me in days.

Again, I know this is normal. He’s growing more independent. I need some advice on how to help him feel safer. I also want to know what I could be doing to make him grow more distant from me. From the beginning, I was his mama who he’d spend every night nuzzling up to and making biscuits on.

More importantly, I want him to feel safe. I want him to be happy and not force him to love me. Any words of advice would be appreciated.

(Guys, is this how my mom felt in my teenage years 😭)

Kitty Likes Scratching

So I know this is a common issue, but my cat loves scratching furniture. We have like five different scratching posts that he doesn’t use. Granted, they are all the same texture and I have now taken notice that he likes the carpeted texture. I’m thinking I can staple some old towels over them so they could be more appealing.

Still, I’m still wondering if there are any other suggested solutions. I know there are anti-scratch sprays, but there are so many recipes and contrasting reviews.

Unfortunately, my parents threatened to have him d*cla*ed if he even leaves a mark on our leather chairs. Luckily, he isn’t interested. Rest assured, if thy ever were to go through with it, I’d give him to a friend to live with until I can he my ow place.

Leaving Kitty Home Alone Overnight

So I have a last minute funeral I have to go to out of town. We are unable to find a petsitter or get him into a border.

We are leaving around noon and getting back probably around 5pm the next day. I have to keep him confined to my room or else he will eat our house plants.

How should I go about this?

Edit: uh- he just tries to eat my phone charger….this is why I’m worried….
