How to access drain trap on 500 series washer (2010)

UPDATE: added the model info. it says 5400, not 500.

I have a 500 series (I think) washer/dryer that was purchased in 2010. It will sometimes overflow (no error message) and leak water on the floor. I suspect the drain trap is clogged bc it’s never been cleaned and I have no idea how to get to it. Since it is an older model it does not have the little door or other access point on the front lower panel. Is there another way to get to the trap other than to lift up the washer and get to some screws underneath to remove the lower front panel? I have a dryer stacked on top so this really isn’t an option.

Car for HS Sr

Looking to buy our son (18 in Sept) a used car. Would be mostly local driving (we are in N VA) but down the road maybe also for longer trips (highway) getting to/from college assuming he doesn’t stay in this area.

Would like to stay closer to $15k and really want safety features such as blind spot warning. So probably 2018 or later. I have a Subaru Outback (2019) that he’s been driving and I love my Subaru but it’s hard to get to my price point (looking primarily at Imprezas and Crosstrek for him).

Started looking at Hyundai preowned/certified since they tend to have more features I’m looking for. Not sure I want to get a Hyundai (or Kia) without an extended warranty and not sure how much it would cost if I just got one separately. I’m open to other brands - I know Hondas and Toyotas are also good but haven’t found a lot at my price point that doesn’t have a lot of miles (or was non commercial use).

The hope is to hold the car through college (2031) and ideally longer. Reliability and safety are our 2 biggest priorities. Prefer a personal use car but might be willing to look at former rentals unless you advise against.

Welcome any advice you can share!!
