Will my hives ever go away?

Will my hives ever go away?

Hello, I made a post about two weeks ago. I was on 40 mg of prednisone and slowly tapered down to 30 mg. I had a significant flare, but then it calmed down. Today I went down to 25 mg; yesterday I was at 30 mg, and now the hives have come back like this.

Is this normal? Will they eventually disappear completely?

Visitor visa for husband

Hello everyone,

I am a Canadian citizen, born in Canada, and I lived there for 28 years. I got married last fall in Serbia to a Serbian citizen, and I have been living in Serbia with him since May. I need to return to Canada in July, otherwise I risk losing my health insurance card. My husband and I recently applied for a visitor visa. We submitted our marriage certificate, proof that he has a job—he is a history teacher at a secondary school here—proof that he has his own apartment, and that he intends to come visit me for three weeks in July. Do you think this is enough? I have recently heard that the majority of people are being refused Canadian visas.

Hello,

I never had hives in my life until last month. On April 9–10 I ate a hamburger and during the night my right leg started itching and hives appeared. At first they were only on one leg, then both legs the next day, and after a few days they spread to my whole body.

A few days later I got a bad cold that lasted about a week with very blocked ears. The cold went away but the hives stayed.

I tried loratadine — it helped the first day but not after. Then a dermatologist prescribed levocetirizine. It helped the first day, less the second, and stopped working by the third.

Now I’m on 40 mg prednisone. It helped the first two days, but today (day 3) I’m having a big flare again.

I don’t know what to do anymore. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hello everyone,

I had never had hives in my life until last month. On the night of April 9–10, I ate a hamburger and went to bed. During the night, my right leg started itching and the first hives appeared. At first they were only on one leg. After one day they appeared on both legs, and after several days they spread to my entire body.

The hives started on Friday, and by Tuesday I developed a bad cold that lasted about a week. My ears were very blocked during that time. The cold went away, but the hives did not.

I first took loratadine. It helped the first day, but the second day it did not help at all. I then saw a dermatologist who prescribed 20 mg of levocetirizine. The first day it helped, the second day it helped somewhat, and by the third day it stopped working completely.

On Monday I started prednisone at 40 mg. The first day it helped within a few hours, and the second day it also helped. But now on the third day I am having a flare with hives on most of my body.

I really don’t know what to do anymore. It’s ruining my daily life, and now even the prednisone doesn’t seem to be working anymore.
