ISO room for rent

Hi everyone! I recently got a job in the area as a recent grad. I am looking for housing near public transit, where my budget is 1100 dollars a month. I would just like somewhere that is safe and clean, preferably female roommates(I am female)

I am super responsible and I am currently studying for medical school. Any leads would be super helpful!

Gap year Americorps positions

Hello Premed! I was wondering if I should get some advice on which Americorps position I should do during my gap year.

Background information: I am a first gen, low income URM. I am originally from the rural south, but I had a full scholarship to a private school in the Los Angeles area. I graduated in May. I have one year of working full time as a CNA and a first authorship on a paper, so I am okay on clinical hours and research. However, I have not taken the MCAT. I am deciding between two different Americorps positions.

Option 1: Americorps at a homeless shelter here in Los Angeles. The job would entail reaching out to homeless people in the area, providing them with resources and volunteering at the local health clinic for homeless people. This job will be in Los Angeles.

Option 2: Americorps at a high school, mentoring high schoolers who will be first generation college students. I have been doing this in college for the last two years. This job will be in the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland).

I am leaning towards option 2 since in the Bay Area I wouldn’t need to buy a car since I would be living close to work. Furthermore, I’ve been looking at apartments and it would be about the same amount. I’ve been suffering from burnout for a while, so I think a less stressful job would be nice. However, my friends and family think I should take the job in Los Angeles since it’s more health related and closer to the people I’ve met in college.

The thing is I’ve always wanted to live in the bay, I love the weather there, the food and the nature. Please help!! Am I making the right choice?
