Ive been a model since i was 13 AMA

Been a model since i was 13, (21 now) as well as acted for some minor appearances and music vids but barely any speaking lines.

During my time at the peak of my career, I was based in Asia (mostly Bangkok and Tokyo), but i also went over to NYC and London briefly. I now go to uni in Paris and have kinda slowed down my career out of personal choice to focus on my studies and new life ive built.

I had some minor fame but nothing crazy. I would be recognized sometimes in the street but i was well known among the kind of Asian modelling social scene. (met and socialised with a couple of A-list celebs but probably shouldn't say names lol).

Ik loads of people are curious on the day-to day of modelling or eating habits, "yacht girls", nepotism, etc so im coming here to answer any questions that yall might have! I think it would be better to kind of reveal and be honest about the realities as its such a glamourised career but the reality isnt really talked about or just outright lied about. Anyways, AMA!

I was raised in a country where communism took everything from my family AMA

Hi guys, as the title says, I was raised in a country that was previously communist, and during that time, it seized almost all of my family's assets (land, farms, mines, everything) and gifted these assets to communist leaders and allies.

This was before I was born but was felt most harshly by my father's family. They still had some wealth, and they got to keep their main property, but all money-making assets were seized.

After it was all seized, many members of my family began selling other assets they had (small rental properties, diamonds, gold, etc) to maintain their lifestyles. Eventually, however, it all started to run out as no one really worked, as they assumed they could live off of it forever. My family was lucky in that my parents made their own way, went to university, and got high-paying jobs.

English-speaking society in my country is quite small, so everyone knows everyone, which is why I'm not explicitly stating the country; however, I'm sure you would figure it out through Google.

Best wine bars and pubs?

Hi, just coming to see if anyone has any good recs for wine bars and pubs (preferably in Jesmond or nearby). I've lived in jesmond for the past couple of years and have been to quite a few bars and pubs round here, but just coming to see if there are any good ones I've missed! Doesn't have to be just in Jesmond, but preferably quite central that I could walk to

Whats going on with Summerhill grove?

Hi, just coming on here as I was going through Rightmove and came upon the most beautiful square with Georgian houses, but it's located right on Westgate Road? Coming here because I'm curious if anyone actually lives near there, because it's in quite a dodgy area, but the houses are 700k plus, even more expensive than Jesmond or Gosforth. Does anyone know the history of the area? Because I'm curious why there's that little pocket of wealth there

West Ken, West Hampstead or Clapham?

Hi guys, 21F here and moving to London with a couple of uni friends(both girls and the same age) in about 6 months. We aren't based in London, so we don't really know much about the different areas. We've all been quite a few times and especially love Clapham, Notting Hill, West Hampstead, and pretty much all of Kensington and Chelsea, but probs can't afford to live in the insanely nice bits lol. We also put quite a bit of importance on a nicer area rather than an insanely nice flat, as safety is a priority, and we all do morning runs, so it would be nice to have a pretty area to run. 2 of us will have internships in Canary Wharf, and one will be doing her master's at LSE.

Our budget is around 5k in total; we would prefer to stay under, but ik London rent is insane. We are gonna book some viewings soon to see what we can get, but coming here for some advice on areas as well as any insight into transport links? We are totally ok with a bit of a long commute as we are pretty used to it.

I'm a UK Conservative/Centre right.

Hello, I'm 22 and from the UK. In university, I studied Politics for my undergrad, and now I am pursuing a master's in international diplomacy and relations.

I have conservative values. I know it is controversial, but I came here because I wanted to see if I can help gain a better understanding of why my views may be flawed. I will provide a list of my views to debate and discuss.

1st. I believe that inheritance tax in the UK is inherently flawed and should not exist.

2nd. While I disagree with the premise of Neo-Liberalism in our economic system, I don't see a way out, and I believe that we need to continue it.

3rd. I believe that the monarchy should remain due to its cultural and historic value.

4th. I disagree with the idea of abolishing private schools. I believe that there should be increased funding in state schools; however, it does not make sense to me to abolish private schools.

5th. I disagree with the belief that hereditary peerages should be abolished. However, I also believe that the House of Lords should not have hereditary peers.

6th. I truly disagree with people who believe that communism or "true" socialism (not to be confused with democratic socialism, which I also have controversial views on) would work. I truly don't think it would work, and I believe that while there need to be changes in our Neo-liberal, capitalist society, at its core it works.

These are a few of my controversial views, but I really am open to discussion on them. I also have many Liberal views and have voted Green and Labour in the past. These, however, are the most extreme of the conservative views that I have.

I really hope not to get hate, as I truly want to understand other viewpoints. I also really think that political debate has become so hostile, while it should really be about understanding other people's views. I'm happy to explain why I believe these things, and I want to hear from people with widely different life experiences about how their upbringing has affected their political stances.

Make sure to socialise as much as you can!!

HI, I understand this is a forum where people mostly ask questions; however, I have advice that I genuinely think is one of the most important parts of uni that people don't do.

Socialise with everyone. Make as many friends as you can and don't gravitate only to those with similar upbringings. Make friends with people from a variety of backgrounds and aspirations for life because it will help you so so much in future life.

In first year, I made best friends with a girl whose parents work in politics and have been offered an internship. I have another close friend whose parents work in finance/shipping and have also been offered an internship by their parents. Being friends with people who have different upbringings can take you so so much further if you don't confine yourself to only hanging out with a couple people.

Also recognize what you can offer. For example, if your parents or family can further someone else's career. For example, my parents work in fiance/stocks (i dont rlly understand tbh) but my parents offered my close friend a year-long paid internship at their firm. Networking is, in my opinion, the most important part of going to university. And even if your family cant, recognize what you want to do in the future and how your future career may help someone else. It is also not class dependent as some might think; you can make friends with whoever, and if they don't want to be friends, that's fine. Literally just try with everyone, invite people to pub trips or house parties, coffee, whatever.

Hope this helps someone but PLSSS take this advice if you can
