FIRE off grid

I have a dream of buying some remote land, building a cabin on it, and using investment returns to fund the rest of my lifestyle. Fuel, food, property taxes etc. I’d need to do the math on what my expenses would be, and make quite a bit more money before I can do this, but my main question is if this is reasonable? Is there any concerns I’m missing? Anyone know someone who has done something like this?

I want a hobby that involves making stuff

Making art, music, writing, physical stuff, idk what else. I want a hobby that involves making stuff rather than being an activity or consuming content. I struggle in two ways with this

  1. Finding something interesting. Nothing has really stuck out as interesting
  2. Getting over the initial learning hump to then make anything

Just looking for suggestions :)

Starting training again

I used to be a pretty decent runner. It’s been years now and whenever I try running I can still run pretty fast but an intense run puts me out of commission for days. But slower runs barely feel fatiguing at all. I’m struggling to find the balance, any tips?

I can run 5:00/km for 5-6k I struggle to run faster or longer. Side question which would be worth focusing on first, distance or speed

Notes from the underground was like looking in a mirror

It was embarrassing how much I related to the narrator. His pride and envy really stuck with me. Reading this felt life changing, or at least it made me hope for a change. I hope to change myself and not become the narrator. I hope to become a “man of action” like he speaks of. I don’t know if I will, but I will at least remember this book as a lesson.
