2007 CBR600RR. This is adjacent to the left rearset mount. I'm like 80% sure it's a crack but I need some other opinions.
Edit: old owner snapped chain and it ripped a hole through crank case and swing arm. Was gonna be a project bike till I saw this. The mark isn't on the opposite side of the frame.
Buying an 07' body but the crank case has been blown through by the chain. Found a "2007-2012" engine on eBay for relatively cheap. I know there are differences between the 07'-08' and 09'-12' motors; if the donor engine is the later gen, what all would have to be done to make it compatible, if anything?

How much work would it take to repair a busted crank case? Probably drop the engine I know, but are there any workarounds? I would probably offer no more than $1300 for the bike. Asked for some photos of the damage so I'm waiting it out.
'06 Yamaha R6 with 28k miles. He says he has no idea what the issue is. Any thoughts?
