Finally got 1 of these!

It is not too special at a glanced but the removable engine parts makes it worthwhile.

Since I have the Pop Race version long ago, time for comparison 🤗 But my Pop Race has its wheels swapped, not sure where I keep its original wheels.

At a glanced, both looks identical, weight feel about the same too. Closer inspection there are some differences but we start with what's identical first.

The base of the car is identical, same pattern and size, same 1 screw under the exhaust too. Taillights shape is the same, exhaust piece is the same but lacks paint in it's center. Interior bits looks the exact same as well.

As for the difference, the biggest one seems to be the headlights. Works model seems to just a separate acrylic piece with simple detail printed on it while Pop Race looks to have more detailed parts behind the acrylic. While side mirror is the same shape, Works Model ones are rubber while Pop Race is plastic.

For general paint work, it looks more or less the same quality to me but some areas looks a bit sloppy (front splitter).

Overall, I think this a retooled of Pop Race casting to simplify it and sell it at a lower price. Since usual Pop Race is about 18.5 USD here (RM75) and Works Model are sold at 13 USD (RM53).

Since it came from the same parent company and looks a bit like a sub brand of Pop Race, I'll just share these here as well.

RX7 time attack is new casting!

Seems like all the non opening parts Pop Race got transfered to a new sub brand.

Also, new R33 JGTC casting! These are special colour/livery release for TMCS, The Model Car Show in Malaysia.

Finally got the recolour in white, fantastic casting from Time Micro and I love how silly it looks 🤣

Back to good old car park diorama!

New wheels, painted bits of the interior in blue and remove it's spoiler.

Originally wanted a different spoiler on it but cant find anything that match it well. So, just no spoiler for now.

Like all previous D-Model, this is a modified Mini GT with huge price markup and sold during events.

This is a 4x markup compared to normal release from Mini GT but it came with custom paint, custom wheels, new spoiler and a new exhaust.

Happy to see they made this! Fantastic casting, wheels could be better but is hard to complain at it's price range.

Grabbed both orange and black, will keep the orange one as it is while the black one will be used for mods but what to mod on it 🤔

Came back to TXR for the new Master Tune mode and really enjoying my current run with this land yacht.

I love DCT releases, they are very cheap with decent quality and they make often make cars that no one else make.

Grabbed this 2 of these 505 for $7 each, kept the maroon stock while mods on the black one.

Mod plans for the black 505 was to try to make it looks a bit more classic Japanese, oil cooler hanging outside, add on splitter and a large exhaust. Still undecided on the wheels, Watanabe wheels looks great but the 4 spokes looks more unique.

Old defect Kyosho McLaren 12C that I bought, came with a missing spoiler and paint chip everywhere. Sent it to my friend for a repaint and replace the spoiler from a Civic.

Now it is a modified 12C for the road!

Another new release from xCarToys that somehow didn't cross over to Pop Race side.

Really nice details, see through front grille, detailed underbody, brakes in wheels while still keeping the same openable hood and trunk too!
