This epidemic of customer using chatGPT to help them figure out what colors they want is making me want to strangle myself.

Customer comes in and I assume he has the app because he was taking pictures of the color cards and product mat and asking the bot which is the best product and all. Like I didn’t just tell him about it?

Another comes in with a suspicious picture and ask if I can match Sherwin Williams and I said yeah. It was REDEND POINT and it’s a very muted clay color in my opinion but the damn chat bot made it look like terracotta. The customer asked if there was anything in Behr close to it so I pull up that all that brings up similar colors, so I start pulling cards. But they didn’t like the color cards I pulled, and on the actual Sherwin Williams website this color was a muted reddish-brown and they wanted terracotta. 😤

Multiple customers come in with AI pictures and get upset and change their minds because the bot didn’t get it right. Ask if we and other paint companies don’t have resources to help you figure out your damn color 🙄

I had a customer come in that said the HD app allowed her to upload a picture of her kitchen and switch around paint colors. She stumped me because I’ve never seen that. She took a screenshot of all the colors she picked too so I didn’t think she was crazy. I tried to find the visualizer through the app and on the computer but it wasn’t showing up. I asked the magic apron AI and it said the app doesn’t offer a visualizer for paint and I was confused. Because she had the pictures right there. Has anyone seen this and know how to get to it?

Does anyone here have the Canterlot castle, Wedding Castle, and twilights crystal castle? I’ve tried searching for the measurements OUT OF BOX for these three but have come with no luck. I just need the height and width.

I know the EG dolls get flock online for being cheap compared to other doll lines. I’m collecting twilights right now and wanted to show.

Customer came in rightfully upset because they have bought up about $300 of paint, in glidden, and now it is bubbling and peeling of their walls.

I recognized their profile because I made all their paint. Thing was they had chose all Behr colors and wanted it in glidden. Said that whoever made their paint have recommended glidden, but I know I made their paint and don’t recommend glidden because of the fact it’s cheaper and can be bought at Walmart. ( I know not the exact same line of glidden paint)

This was also 3 months ago when I was doing manual formulas for customers who were getting Behr colors in glidden paints. I have since stopped doing this as another associate told me I shouldn’t be doing that. And no other customer has been coming in to complain of this happening. I checked the difference in the Glidden Eggshell Deep Base and the Behr Eggshell Deep Base and the Behr one has more FL OZ in the can so I assume it shouldn’t be a huge problem copying the Behr tint formula into a glidden can since limousine leather is the same as onyx black. Overall the customer got Behr colors but got them all in glidden eggshell cans so copying over the formula shouldn’t have made it peel and bubble, right?

Manager is sending a rep to her house to see the exact problem but I didn’t know the exact questions to ask surrounding the situation. I didn’t hear though the customer had an older house, something about old paint, and leaving the Klean Strip Liquid Sandpaper on their walls.

I just need to know if this is a user error or did I mess up big time and will it cost me my job…

DH who is not my DH told me that I needed to find an appropriate time to go on break because it seems like everytime I go on break multiple people come up to the paint desk.

I’m the only one here a night. Nobody else knows paint and nobody has taken interest in it either when I ask. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I told this DH that I go when I’m suppose to in the middle of my shift and since I’m a closer most of the time I go between 7-8. Depends on how long I’m working.

I went around 8 today and DH said I should consider going around 9? Maybe I’m a wuss but I’d rather not stand for 3 hours. This was only for a 4 hour shift. Other days when I work longer hours I go on my 15 2 hours into my shift. And I go on my lunch break before the other paint person leaves. So like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Does anyone else’s store frequently display the spray way glass cleaner packs?

They suck at cleaning mirrors and glass but seem to do better as a degreaser and wheel rim cleaner.

Is it wrong to adjust the colorants of a paint with doing a color matching? Like if someone gave me a glidden card but wanted a Behr product and you just copy and paste the colorants from the glidden to the Behr. Is it a huge issue?

Can Behr replicate car colors? I had a customer wanting a white for their vehicle but I don’t know if we can translate car color to Behr yk?
