American spouse traveling with EU citizen into Rome

Myself and my children are dual citizens, US and Italian citizens. My wife is not. We have not traveled to Europe together as a whole family before. Do they allow the spouse of EU citizens to enter through the EU/EEA lane with us? Has anyone had any experience entering FCO attempting this ?

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any suggestions. I am taking my wife on a surprise trip to Oahu for her 50th birthday in late September . We are going for 6 days. I would like to do 3 nights in Waikiki and 3 nights in a quieter area of the island. She will enjoy the shopping, business and food so I want to incorporate a few days in Waikiki. So for the other 3 days I have been looking at Ko Olina Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton in Turtle Bay. I am not stuck or sold on either. Just want something quiet, comfortable and accessible to pools and beach. Ko Olina seems closer to more restaurants for dinner but again, I am open for anything and would appreciate any suggestions. Even open for an air bnb if on the beach. I know some of the remote beaches are not as swimmable so that’s whyI was looking at places that had beach and pool and cater to adults.
