Do I need to take my boy to the vet for this?

Came home and noticed a wet spot on my cats head. Doesn’t seem to be bothering him one bit but I am very concerned. Is this something I should take him to the vet for or let it heal like a cut on a human. This is on the top of his head. Not sure how it happened, he’s my only pet and he was home all alone, maybe his fur got caught in something and he pulled back hard.

Saved this az woodpecker

Found this little dude in my yard out in Scottsdale with a broken wing. Wondering if anyone knows a place I can take him to give him a chance. If not I am going to just put the poor little guy out of his misery. My heart can’t take it! He’s been in a shoebox all night cause I couldn’t get ahold of any shelters last night.
