I've played a lot aoe3 when I was younger, I've been playing a bit again and I feel like I'm not doing the right things. I don't play online, I've been playing skirmish in nornal difficulty.

The way I play is get around 20 villagers just farming and I put a lot of houses, while I set my "hero" around the map collecting those animals that give money or food.

Then I just kinda wait to get a lot of resources and build shit ton of musketeers, a couple canons and go all in and win.

This works but only against this difficulty, when I play harder difficulty I either get pressured the entire game or they develop and army faster than me.

Which steps should I take when I start a game? What troops to make, buildings etc?

I never know which card I pick from my home city, I always end up just picking the ones that give me soldiers.

I've started kcd2 a couple weeks ago, I have around 70 hrs and I've unlocked the masterstrike on the nomads camp in the beginning of the game. I'm now in kuttenberg and I often get countered with the enemy's masterstrike when they use shields, or even when we're fist fighting they get that animation when they slap u back.

When I try to do masterstrike f.e. with a balisard or when I'm fist fighting I can never do It.

Do I need to get masterstrike with those weapons or am I doing something wrong?
