Have a customer who already has solar and a large battery, who is wanting either a hardwired or 3 phase inlet for a petrol generator in the event that there is no sun for an extended period of time and the grid is down (he’s a bit of a prepper type).
What precautions do I need to take around having a generator upstream of the solar and battery? Normally I’d keep it simple with a manual changeover switch but even with 2 of them, I would imagine I’d need some protection in place so that the customer can’t mistakenly disconnect grid and the generator and solar connected.
