i7-10870H severely throttled (~18W max) after BSODs...... Cinebench scores extremely low, GPU normal (ROG Strix G512LV)

Hi!

I have a problem with my CPU. Before, it used to run games normally, and now it barely runs Windows…

My processor is an i7-10870H, with an RTX 2060 and 16 GB of RAM. My laptop is a ROG Strix G512LV.

The problem is that before I could play normally. One day, I had a blue screen that caused one of the fans to stop working (the GPU fan). I took it to a technician about 9 months ago, and he repaired it and also replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and cleaned the dust (he didn’t touch the GPU because it uses liquid metal).

About 5 months ago, I could still play normally, but then I had another blue screen because the power went out while Windows was updating, and my laptop also has a bad battery. That forced me to wipe everything and reinstall Windows from scratch. After downloading all the proper drivers and installing a game from Steam, I noticed the game was running extremely poorly. I decided to wipe everything again and reinstall WINDOWS, making sure to install both the laptop drivers and NVIDIA drivers correctly.

I haven’t installed any games yet, but when I run CPU tests in CINEBENCH, I get extremely low scores. The GPU works normally, but the CPU is the problem, and it’s very bad — I only get around 177 points (basically worse than a 3rd gen i5).

When I use HWINFO64, I noticed that during CINEBENCH the temperatures are very high (92–98°C) and power consumption is very low (16–19W), even when switching between silent or turbo mode.

I downloaded THROTTLESTOP to monitor it, and I see BD PROCHOT checked. In the limits section, I see that in “Performance” mode, but “Silent” in Armoury Crate, I get TVB and Thermal on core (yellow), and EDP OTHER on ring. The CPU also reaches 78–85°C at idle, and frequencies vary between 2600 MHz and 3700 MHz.

When I set “Performance” mode and “Turbo” mode in Armoury Crate, the same indicators appear, but they flicker between yellow and red. Temperatures go up to 93–98°C, frequencies go up to 4300–4700 MHz, even when the laptop is basically idle (around 7% usage).

When I start Cinebench, CPU usage goes to 92–97%, but frequency drops to 1400–1700 MHz, temperatures stay around 95°C+, and power stays between 15 and 19W.

What do you think the problem could be? PLEASE HELP ME :(
