Is it true that people are actually narrow minded and non ambitious in SGBIT?

I was preparing for other exam and KCET wasn't my primary focus, i did partially clear my other exam (cleared one subject, couldn't reach the cutoff for 2nd subject by 5 marks) I won't lie, I didn't study for boards nor KCET . I got 85% in boards and 85k in kcet. I couldn't get my desired college and branch through kcet, soo I'll be joining SGBIT for ECE this year. But I've been told that people in sgbit are non ambitious, not cool, narrow minded unlike in kle and git. Is it true?

I had imagined a lot about my college life, attending hackathons, feasts, concerts, cool friend group, carrer driven friends who would push eachother to do well and what not. Now I'm just worried how I'll spend my 4 years between people like them. Lmk if it is true about SGBIT.

(Don't ask about which exam I was preparing for)

How's Jain college? (Udyambagh)

I genuinely don't wanna join it , butI've no option other than management seat. My KCET rank went too low due to inflation and also my parents don't want me to leave the city. I heard it doesn't have any good faculty, infrastructure, can't use mobiles, treating students like prisoners, no internal marks are give. Is it all true? Should I join that college?

I’m honestly very clueless right now and need some guidance.

I gave Karnataka CET this year and scored around 72 marks, and I got 81% in boards. From what I’ve calculated, I’ll probably end up somewhere around 50k–70k rank. Which basically means I most likely won’t get CSE, Cybersecurity, AI/ML or related branches in decent colleges.

The problem is, I genuinely don’t see myself surviving in EEE, ECE, Mechanical or Civil. I know people say “take any branch and work hard later,” but I already know those subjects would completely drain me mentally. I was always more interested in CS, cybersecurity, AI/ML and creative tech-related stuff.

I’m also interested in designing and creative fields. Honestly, if I had known more about UCEED earlier, I think I would’ve performed much better there because I’m more bent towards the creative side than core engineering. But I wasn’t really exposed to those options in time.

Another thing is that I was preparing for NDA alongside all this, and because of that I couldn’t properly focus on boards or CET. I know that’s not an excuse and I take responsibility for my marks, but now I genuinely don’t know what to do next.

My parents already think spending a lot on private colleges would be a burden, and they’re also not allowing me to take a drop year. So I feel stuck between courses I don’t like and colleges we probably can’t afford.

If anyone has been in a similar situation or knows good options related to BCA, design, UI/UX, creative tech, cybersecurity, any kind of designing pathways etc., please help me out. I really need some direction right now.

I wanna do masters in tech but also i wanna go for designing. I'm hella confused.

Exams i appeared for :

NDA

Karnataka CET
