Where's John Nolan when you need him?

First time seeing this bird. Black head, white body, grayish beak, black wings with white underwing feathers. There were four of them. I remember hearing a pretty distinct call but i couldnt remember what it sounded like

.. Now I just need to make a stupid mistake and die from a totally preventable death.

While playing with the Bandits mod, I saw a huge group of NPCs going house to house clearing all the zombies they could find and I figured it saves me a lot of ammo so I let them be.

As I cleared the next few houses, I could still hear gunshots popping off in the distance, people shouting, heads being smashed in, and you'd think it's going to just continue on until they cleared the whole block but nope, it all gradually started to fade until nothing but eerie silence filled the neighborhood.

I thought the zeds got to all of them but for some reason, I did not see any of their corpses, reanimated or otherwise. The days went on, and on one particular day it just so happened that I stumbled upon this small broom closet.. and everyone was here. All dead. All rotten. Bunched up like they all rat king'd themselves.
