Live in an apartment and when I came home from work the kids playing came up to me. I let them rev her a little and sit on her for a little while I was out there. I love this part of riding, i love putting a little more joy into peoples lives, it makes up for when I cut people off haha.
I’m 19, have had a handful of concussions in my life I can count at least 6 before this year. Likely more. Dealing with one right now I got back during the summer from work that was made worse after a big hit to the head while in a beer league game a few weeks after, I didn’t know I was concussed at the time but now I know that was likely 2 concussions within a 3 week time span bringing me to at least 8 concussions. I stopped playing end of July. I know I’m not returning to the game for a decent bit of time till I’m fully healed, but I’m debating even returning at all. I’d hate to hang it up so young but I don’t know if I can risk another concussion. I’ve only been playing hockey for 5 years and I’ve loved every second of it, just got onto my first beer league team and love it. I fear that it’s best to just hang it up for good and maybe try and start coaching a youth team or something to stay involved in the game. Anyone have any insight?

Edit: looking more to hear people’s experience with returning to the sport in any capacity after playing and how long they took off if they returned at all. I’m going to follow my doctors recommendations as they obviously knows what’s best for my brain and right now they haven’t given me a return to play time so for now the pads are packed up and the skates are hung, will not be playing till likely 2028 at the earliest (partially because work commitments).
