Catskills Memorial Day weekend availability

What are the chances of finding a place to camp Saturday and Sunday nights on Memorial Day Weekend? What are our best options?

My friend and I are backpackers that have 2-person tents. We don't mind car camping somewhere, trail site camping, dispersed camping, or camping on private property if permission given.

Some places close to but not in the Catskills could work.

Brightness & Contrast control in Windows

Brightness & Contrast control in Windows.

If you don't know you can can control a full Windows computer (non-laptop) with a free program like "Monitorian" which I used for years. You just need a compatible, monitor, video card and cable. This is more common these days than you think.

Recently, I went looking for an alternative that can control it by a set schedule after I installed Flux for color temperature control and Black Level control. I found that "Twinkle Tray" another free program can do just that, auto-adjust brightness and contrast on a schedule. At set times: 7:30p and every hour after that until 10:30p, I have the brightness and contrast adjusted to be less light in my eyes. At 6:00a it resets back to my day settings.

I find this helpful among other things to not disrupt natural melatonin production in the evenings.

Now if I can only do that on the large screen TV. Hmm maybe I can swap out my nVidia Shield media machine for a mini Windows computer. For now I wear blue blocking glass after ~9pm and close my eyes or squint if the screen becomes suddenly too bright.

I'm sure there are solutions on the Mac and Linux computers but I unfortunately can't help with that currently.

I hope this helps.

That's a quick response.

In fact I notice the queue is empty of all but eight things reported today on the 30th. It defaults to filtering to just todays date BUT even though the mattress I posted about is still listed, when I click on it it's marked as completed. They should have a filter and turn it on by default to filter out completed things.

I'm sure they aren't perfect in resolving things but they are doing a great job of keeping our city from looking like a slum from dumped garbage on public property.

I recommend we are all aware of this great service. You can Google "Fix it Stamford" to find it.

What's the expected difference between the Rucker 4.0 and the Rucker 5.0 purportedly available May 2026?
