UK based counselling/therapy in subpregnancy

Hi all,

I'm currently 6w pregnant with our sub pregnancy after TFMR for Acrania in March. We had an early reassurance scan this morning and the little heartbeat was seen and the appointment went as positively as it could have.

That said, since I found out that I'm pregnant I have been a completely anxious wreck. The scan today triggered me a lot more than I thought it would and it made me realise that maybe I haven't processed the loss of my first pregnancy as well as I thought I had.

Does anyone have any recommendations for counselling/therapists/charities who specialise in pregnancy after loss? I'm based in South East UK, but very much open to online options so it could be anywhere UK-based

Thanks

Just need to rant after my pharmacy experience today

I just need to vent to people who might understand. My TFMR was in March following acrania diagnosis at our 12w scan. I've been prescribed high dose folic acid. Anyway, today I went to collect the prescription and noted on the form that I was exempt from paying due to my maternity exemption certificate (still valid in England even if you lose a baby in case anyone didn't know!).

Pharmacist looked at me and said "wow you don't look like you've had a baby" to which I looked her dead in the eyes and said "that's because I lost it". She was obviously shocked and the colour drained from her face and was super apologetic. But honestly why should I pander to comments like that to make people comfortable? And what a weird comment to make about someone's (who you don't even know!) body.

I've been coping pretty well, I think, for someone who has been through hell. But this has just triggered no end of emotion in me and I am frustrated as heck.

Anyway if you've read this, I'm sorry that you're also in this sub and have been through the same pain of TFMR. It's a crappy club to be a part of.

TTC after anencephaly

Mammas with a previous anencephaly diagnosis, I'm curious to know how long you waited before ttc again and whether your next pregnancy was healthy?

I'm 2 months post-tfmr and feel ready to start trying again. The doctor recommended we wait 3 months so that the higher dose of folic acid had time to do its thing and I know another month isn't much longer in the grand scheme of things. But I'm torn between wanting to start trying again and scared that if we get pregnant again we will have the same diagnosis.

Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies x
