🗡️ What happened

• The killer was Emadh Miah (17 at the time, now 18), from Solihull. He travelled to London on 4 August to visit his grandfather.

• On the day of the attack, he took a train to Stratford, rented a bicycle, and hid his face with a mask, hood, and gloves.

• He waited near Ghulam’s home. When Ghulam cycled past, Miah chased him and stabbed him once in the back with a large "zombie knife" (about 22 inches long).

• Ghulam made it to the pizza shop for help but collapsed. Emergency crews tried to save him — he was pronounced dead at 2:39 PM. Cause of death: deep sharp force trauma.

🚔 How the killer was caught

• Police reviewed CCTV, tracked his bike hire, train travel, and digital orders for the knife.

• He was arrested 3 days later on 9 August, in Walsall, West Midlands.

• He was charged with murder and weapon possession on 11 August.

• He refused to answer questions at first, but evidence proved his guilt.

FULL STORY: KELLY MARY FAUVRELLE & BABY RILEY
Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, 26, lived in Thornton Heath, Croydon, South London. She was 8 months pregnant She shared a first child with her former partner, Aaron McKenzie, 25–26, of Peckham. Their relationship had ended months earlier; Kelly described it as “toxic” and had moved on, hoping for a fresh start with her new baby. There was no husband — the attacker was her ex-partner, not a spouse.
🕒 Early Hours – 30 June 2019
• 03:11–03:15 BST: Aaron McKenzie arrives at Raymead Avenue, Thornton Heath. He uses a side passage, enters through an unlocked kitchen window/door, and goes undetected into the family home.
03:25–03:30 BST: He bursts into Kelly’s ground-floor bedroom. She is asleep. He launches a ferocious attack, stabbing her 21 times in the chest, neck, and torso.
• 03:30 BST: Family members — mother, two brothers, sister, and sister’s baby — are woken by screams. They rush to her room but find the attacker already gone.
• 03:35 BST: Police and London Ambulance Service arrive. Kelly is in cardiac arrest; she is pronounced dead at the scene.
• 03:45–04:15 BST: Paramedics perform an emergency Caesarean section at the scene to save her unborn son. The baby is alive but critically ill; he is taken to a specialist children’s hospital.
• 03:40 BST: CCTV captures McKenzie running away from the property, heading toward nearby roads.
