i base the album score on the ratings of each individual song; for example, let's say an album has 3 tracks:
track 1: 70
track 2: 80
track 3: 100
70 + 80 + 100 = 250
250 ÷ 3 = 83.3 (or simply 83)
since it's rare for an album to get a straight 90 or 100, i added a bonus point system:
+1 point: eye-catching cover art (i rarely use this criterion)
+3 points: musical impact (meaning it really impressed me)
+5/10 points: worth listening to (5 for an EP, 10 for an LP)
also, multiple bonus points can be applied simultaneously.
what do you think? does it work, or is it too much?
i'm curious to know how everyone discovered this incredible band.
in my case, i found them thanks to a tiktok edit that used a sped-up version of inside out, and then, i think a year later, i stumbled upon a video titled "duster got me like", that i watched it because i recognized the band's name and expected to hear inside out but echo, bravo played instead.
man. when I heard that, it literally blew my mind.
i spent the whole damn night listening to echo, bravo on loop. later, i dove into their discography, and every song was a thousand times better than the last.
seriously, hearing orbitron, four hours, and travelogue for the first time was like ascending to heaven.
it’s a shame i’ll never be able to go to one of their concerts because i live so far away from usa 😔
i want to know why testphase tape one, experimental dust, and rarities count as part of duster's discography, but low earth orbit, grounded, or meowmeow don't.
or I don't know, i don't really get how it works with bootleg albums.
