Imagine a Zach Hill biographical movie

Imagine a full budget feature length film following Zach Hill and his adventures as a young lad learning the drums, crazy acid-fueled adventures, meeting Les Claypool, and nearly getting into Primus in 1997.

Then there's a time skip that picks up in 2010-2012, goes over the formation of Death Grips and their early years, Ride graffitis the Sony Media Entertainment bathroom, and they get signed. The climax of the movie is them getting trapped in their deal with Epic Records and Zach Hill leaking their documents, the ensuing legal shitstorm along with a tour and dropping a free album with Zach's penis as the cover which becomes the fifth most downloaded album of all time. Also goes over their time at Chateau de Marmont and the ARG.

Think The Social Network, The Apprentice, Bohmeian Rhapsody (the movies). would be directed in a feature film-friendly manner but with an avant-garde flavor to pay respect to Zach's craft. i assume it would have to be some weird obscure director not some hollywood quick cut slop bullshit. can't think of a specific director at the moment.

this was just what i thought of in the moment. if this became a real thing, what exactly would you want to see?

Opinions on the new album?

As we all know, the very much hyped up death grips album has finally released. It's an album with a completely new sound, with inspirations from Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Marshmello and many other respectable artists. The main vocalist Stefan Burnett has also experimented with a completely new way of singing called "inward singing", allowing him to take much shorter breaks between his raps. Another interesting change in the Death Grips house is Zach Hill's new instrument. Most listeners have noticed that, while the album lacks drums, it has tons of saxophone solos. Thats because the main producer has, quote, "grown tired of drums", "think they're pretty stupid now" and "can't wait to move on to a more respectable instrument". All of these changes in this album are very interesting, and I'd like to see what the fans make of it.

Bottomless Pit is their best?

Am I crazy for thinking Bottomless Pit is their best album? I think Ex-Military and Money Store are phenomenal and top tier Death Grips too but Bottomless Pit for me is just so crisp and complete

[ Punk Weight ] What do you think of the intro to this track?

Personally, every time I listen to it, I can’t wait for what comes next. The intro is really great, but it makes me even more excited for the drop!

Up My Sleeves sample found‼️‼️‼️

This song has one of Ride’s old verses, and around the 0:45 timestamp, he says “up my sleeves”. The delivery of this line in the song sounds almost identical to the repeated lyric in the start of the song Up My Sleeves. So what do yall think? Did they sample this older song? Or is it just a coincidence that ride said this twice?

Happy MC Ride Monday Grippers! What the fuck y'all do this week that's productive or some good shit you had? I'll tell you what I gripped too

I'm really into writing lyrics, and Stefan is one of my biggest inspirations cause he's cool, not doing promo just saying Death Grips has had a very positive affect on my life and I will thank Zach and Ride Forever for that. Cause they made things that made me feel stupid and I like that

I also got some bootleg CDs of albums missing in my CD collection a bit ago, Goverment Plates and No Love Deep Web which are two albums I have wanted since forever, I want to get every Death Grips album or project on CD or physical media just in case the world fucking ends

I bought a CD of the Devil Isn't Red, Zach Hill in his band. I've been getting into Zach's Music because I want to understand why he writes about fairytales and Stuff so much, like just to see what he means. Same with Ride! Listening to Fyre slowly but surely, Death Grips is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. That is incredibly depressing for me too say God Damn

I'm going insane without the next fucking album anybody I need to hear anything MODS THIS ISNT A SHITPOST!!!! PLEASE I BEG DONT TAKE THIS DOWN

ride’s homage to ai weiwei’s famous 1995 performance: “dropping a han dynasty urn”

the original features ai weiwei smashing a ~2,000 year old historic ceramic urn, a direct confrontation of its perceived significance. this critique of tradition & authority coincides with his broader interrogation of cultural value & the institutions that deem what is worthy of preservation. ride flips the gesture by dropping a common planter that carries none of the cultural authority of the urn, yet grants it the same visual significance, challenging the hierarchy between the revered and the routinely discarded.

ai weiwei: “why is this priceless?”
ride: “why is this disposable?”
