PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS MEME TOO SERIOUSLY.
This is purely comedy with some notes of speculation of the future of 11th Edition for the Imperial Guard. I'm going to place a bet that GW sees how flawed the Guard are in 11th Ed. and are hopefully putting some focus on getting our Guard 11th Ed. Codex out sooner than others since mere pts drops in everything won't solve the fundamental problems of Guard in 11th.
Fokn 'ate the Lime ones. Grapes aight tho.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS MEME TOO SERIOUSLY.
As of now we now can spam a lot of cheap Leman Russ hulls now on top of the Superheavy + Bullgryn spam, but it's still very funny regardless that our lists have just become a supreme stat check to be even remotely close to being a "Half decent" army before our codex. This isn't even taking into account that our battleline infantry is still a bit awkward to field in numbers (The horde army not mass fielding their battleline is surely a red flag for faction design)
Of course this is overexaggeration and I am sure there are plenty of lists with a variety of units. You do not have to spam several of the same unit to win your games, this is just a fun look at the current meta of our army.
DISCLAIMER: I am more opinionated where after playing a couple of games with my Hippogriffs that they are easily some of the most fun units to zoom about and do secondaries with.
Using primarily the Vigilator cannon and Stubber setup allows it to do more consistent chip damage, much more success than I have trying to make the Armoured Sentinels work.
Although predominately I've ran the Hippos in Grizzled where Scout sentinels are a little redundant, I find running both a lot of fun for dispositions that require actions and good distraction pieces.
This does kinda leave the Armoured Sentinel in a position where it feels like it lacks a genuine sense of purpose within lists, with the only real gimmick I can see it having a deceptively better save, it being slower and ability hampered by lack of damage output makes it awkward to use.
Obviously both units function very well in Armoured Infantry where they can certainly punch up more (S11 Autocannon and S10 Vigilator cannons are very interesting + Enginseer FNP 5+), but within our general army lists, I find the Hippo much more fun with how fast it is even without orders. I may be slightly glazing the Hippogriff AFV but I think they are neat guys that can zoom without orders and have interesting weapon profiles to fit the purpose of your lists, accompanying our regular scout sentinels.
Feel free to discuss and drop your opinions!
EDIT: Completely forgot Assault keyword on Hippos for more zoom.
EDIT2: Less overlap between the Armoured Sentinel and the Hippo, moreso the lack of clear role or purpose of the Armoured Sentinel.
Hot-Shot Marksmen rifle
Meltagun
Melta mine
Bolt pistol
Both armours are from the Kasrkin squad (Demolition trooper and Marksmen sniper from left to right on the thumbnail)
Feel free to discuss our army's inclusion into the game (and before you ask "where Krieg", there's already several armours that basically reference the Krieg outfit, sadly for now there is no official one to one armour set for them).
As much as we would have liked to see Tempestus and Elysian drop troopers in a warbond, this collab was clearly timed for the Kasrkin 40k box repackaging, so I wouldn't get the pitchforks out if not for GW's push for more profit from sales. If you want to protest, just don't buy the warbond (or just buy it with your own in game grinded super credits).
No beef in the comments please, only meme posting.
Don't take this chart too seriously, I'm just highlighting the fact that our Batteline is a bit too overcosted (as in holy fuck why do they cost more than a Hippogriff or a squad of Ogryn) for us to play them en masse in a bog standard combined arms army whilst the Cadin Recon Squad is severely undercosted for what it can bring to the table.
I'm going to make my avatar female so I can just marry this guy. I don't care what anyone else says.
Abhuman Auxiliaries has been amended so that the Exemplar of Duty enhancement for Commissars that grants FNP 4+ now also gives the ability for the enhanced unit to lead Ogryns and Bullgryns.
I think this makes the detachment much more playable, and I want to try it in conjunction with Hammer of the Emperor or Steel Hammer.
I got myself an unbroken model, cut off part of the Hot-Shot Laspistol, attached half a Plasma gun to create a cool looking Plasma carbine of sorts (to act as a Plasma Pistol) then decided to paint him with an ageing face and facial hair to show that his 10 years of nonstop service have taken it's toll on him. (He's only 28 years old).
So I don't think I've seen much discussion for it here specifically, but since we are getting Blast rules being buffed to have Blast 2 or 3, what units do you think we'll see get their Blast buffed?
I can see the Basilisk and Heavy Mortar Artillery team easily getting Blast 2 at least if not Blast 3, but I'm also slightly worried they might lose some base amount of attacks balance wise. This is also top of the fact that Indirect will be allegedly getting global points reductions across the board.
Edit: Completely forgot we most likely won't get any imminent changes to our datasheets without a new codex as said by the top comment.
