Tyrant Legacies Update | Brown Netherling Redesign!

So here is a side by side comparison in Unreal with the new model (Left Model) against the old model (Right Model)

When we was designing the first model we did take a lot of inspiration from the brown minions and tried to create something a bit unique but not straying too far from them

When it came to the redesign we decided to make a couple of changes and make them feel like they are from the depths of the underworld hence why they obtained the name Netherlings! giving them a more demonic and impish design choice but still keeping it close to the brown minions

Please let us know what you think to the newer design

Tyrant Legacies Update | Official Game Model of the Brown Netherling

Huge thanks to my friend for making the first official game assets of the brown netherling!

They’ve been cooking with this over the past few weeks and looked into optimising how the model would work inside Unreal Engine! This is also their first official proper unreal asset

Tyrant Legacies Update | Netherling Icon's

Recently done some art for the iconic four Netherling's to Tyrant Legacies. this will be used as the icons for when you want to select individual Netherling

I know how much us overlord fans love the original ones and i didn't want to change them drastically when it came to their main abilities & functions

On note to this, the plan is that most playthroughs you will get all nether gate artifacts to summon these guys through the main objects, each being housed by a specific enemy faction

I have also planned to add some additional variation Netherlings as well:

  • Black Netherlings – Able to phase through obstacles and teleport short distances.
  • White Netherlings – Ice-based attackers that can freeze enemies and create icy terrain.
  • Yellow Netherlings – Lightning-infused minions that can stun enemies or power ancient machines.
  • Purple Netherlings – Mind-control enemies or drain their strength over time.

These variants would be discovered through challenges, side quests & discovery in the world of tyrant legacies though their abilities are subject to change in the future if seen fit for the games design.

Please let me know what you think or how could I improve on this!

We are creating unique attacks and behaviours to see with these guys in hopes to make them stand out more.

So far for attacks we have got a leap attack down where they will throw themselves at you. If you get hit by the leap you get stunned for a second but this is blockable.

Our other attacks/behaviours that need to come into play are
- Rock throwing (If a player gets to a high advantage point they can throw rocks at you)
- Rally (Using a trumpet/horn to call all nearby Bokoblins to their location to swarm you)
- Ambush (Hiding in Hytales Foliage to try and ambush you)

With how progression works in Hytale the player starts with Zone 1 which is the plains/Forest and then progress into Zone 2 which is the Deserts & Savannah. We wanted to take a different approach to how most Zelda mods go by sticking in the forest and expand on what the next objective area could hold.

Gerudo will spawn with their own structures, items, weapons etc

Also each that the player will encounter will look unique as their is 6144 different Variations to them, including Guards as well
