As someone who unfortunately wasn't able to play sc1, was there any major differences between Rock and Astaroth in that game?

I'm just curious because from what I remember in sc2/3 is that, there were very minimal differences and in sc4 is when they started to make massive differences to their movesets

Hi, I just wanted to make a quick update that the screenwriter's event in toronto is cancelled today

The weather is far too dangerous and I got thrown into a hail storm. I will try rebooking it another day.

Screenwriters' meetup in Toronto, Canada.

Hello, so I'm going to be holding a screenwriters' get-together at the Twilight Cafe & Bar in North York (it's across from North York Station) from 7 pm to 9 pm on Sept 2nd for all levels of screenwriters(please know your formatting). We're going to discuss our work, general soundboarding, questions about formatting, and meeting cool people.

The price of admission is either purchasing a drink or some food. If you're interested in joining, please let me know so I can do a proper headcount! I'd like to try to make this a monthly occurrence.

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of weird revisonist history about Sc5 being a better game then Sc6 and I need to talk about it

One of the most egrigeous things that i have seen being said is sc5 had better mechanics then 6. So, I want to discuss this.

  • Sc5 had a vfesque style sidestep which would have been great if there wasn't an entire button deticated to tracking and poorer backdash
  • Just guard hands down was such an ugly mechanic because it made stuff like 2a's very punishable
  • Grabs doing chip damage and knocking the opponent down on breaks
  • Guard impacts involving meter
  • Due to these mechanics zwei was unviable which rarely happens in a soul calibur game

Also, lets add in some other fun stuff

  • Viola
  • Bt grab infinite
  • funblockable mixup with a+b brave edge and 2k
  • Midscreen ring out with ce
  • 6b+k making stuff (safe)

A pat

  • he can combo off a 2a on hit into ce

Bad Sc6 mechanics

  • reversal edge which is easily osesable

Are there any moves from older games that you'd like to see come back if they do make a sc7?

I personally would love to see:

  • Sc3 Tira's 4k. It was such a fun little ch starter
  • Xianghua 1bb and leixia 6kk, both of these were really fun and strong delayable mid strings
  • Pyhrra 66b

Do we know anything about virtua fighter crossroads having customization?

Personally, I'd love to see a lot of older costumes come back, swimsuits(don't judge me, some of you are thinking the same), and the fun weapons that give an alternate winpose.

I was wondering what are good networking events for screenwriters in toronto?

From what I'm aware we have Indrinks and film & tv networking social(I hate that these always fall on the same day), some industry days at Tiff and I believe lift has a paid service at the beginning of month where you can work on scripts as a group but I was wondering what else?

Also, i've just learned they cancelled the filmmaker's connect networking party.

The one thing that has me suoer curious about the combo system in vf6 that hasn't been discussed yet is weight.

From what we've seen with the new sort of crumplesque launchers now is that pai/wolf and ceilo all sort of fall at the same speed now.

I'm wondering how stuff like this will change balance wise. Will certain characters who are generally a lot safer like aoi become a lot more - on block. Will heavy weight characters have certain tools that are better since they took less damage from launchers? I'm just really curious.

I actually hope they keep the line "Alfred, you cross dressing freak" in the remake

I just want to state right off the bat that I'm a cis gay male. Truth be told, Claire kinda has a point. He's a maschosist parading as his sister who was in cryosleep for what 15 years? Nevermind all the disgusting atrocities commited on rockfort island(driving out the local population, creating a jail to test on people who went against umbrella and creating b.o.w.s). On top of that, he laughs like a dolphin which is freaky.
