Next summer I'll be a group leader on a 4-day children's summer camp. The camp leader just informed me that in my group there will be a 10-year old girl with down syndrome. I have some basic knowledge about DS but I wanna learn more so I can do my best with her. Do you have any advice or resources I could check out?
I discovered Aurora just after WHTTH had came out and had never really read this songs lyrics. Now I did and oh my God they hit hard! How I haven't done this before? Gosh I'm late.
Am I the only one who thinks A different kind of human has referenses to Laurie Anderson's song O Superman? I personally love that song so much (I'm even trying to make a comic about it) and ADKOH has many similar lyrics;
"Oh superman, are you here with me when I'm too weak?" well, this is pretty obvious. It literally says O superman.
I don't know if this counts, but in O Superman there is a phrase "Hello? Is anybody home? This is your mother, are you there?" and ADKOH starts with lots of hellos in asking tone (I really don't know if this is just me but something about the hellos felt very similar to me)
Mother. ADKOH: "Mothership will take you on (higher, higher)", O Superman: "This is your Mother, are you there? Are you coming home?"
Both songs talk about leaving, ADKOH: "Come on, let us take you home" (and it's like the main point of the song), O Superman: "So you better get ready, ready to go"
And I'm not sure why but I feel the vibe is similar. I don't know if I'm exaggerating this and a lot of the similarities wouldn't make any sense if in ADKOH there wasn't that mention of Superman.
Am I just crazy or has someone else noticed the similarities?

Every post I see here is like "Is homosexuality a sin?" "Will I go to hell for being gay" or "Is masturbation a sin?" "How do I stop masturbation?" or they are about commiting a suicide (the amount of posts about that is so heartbreaking). Wtf? It's frustrating, there is so much more about christianity, so so much more. I get it, those are things people struggle with. But when there are like 100 similar posts every day, you can just red them and ask if you have more questions.
And I never open those posts anymore so I don't understand why they are tho only ones this subreddit suggests me.
I don't know if I'm just dumb but why Pale King had to abandon all the other poor vessels? I just don't get it, someone wiser please explain it to me
Edit: Why didn't he get a babysitter or something like that? There was that one guy in the lighthouse, so why not a babysitter?
