Has anyone purchased a silk tote online?

Has anyone purchased a silk tote online?

I must admit I’m fascinated, and the mystery bag factor makes it kind of fun. But $1k is also a lot of money to drop when you don’t know what you’re getting! Curious about others’ experiences with this. The totes seem like they would be useful in general.

What is in store price for Mini Garden Party?

I think the official name is Neo Garden or Garden 23. I am considering just skipping the wait and going to the secondary market since leather doesn’t do much for your prespend anyway. I don’t want to pay too much over retail though…

Oh, I’m looking for all leather.

If you can get your hands on this jacket

Someone posted it in cream a while back. I highly recommend. I live in a more mild climate and this will keep me warm for much of the fall. (I’m a tall size 4 and I bought a 34. Also probably could have done a 36)

New Wish List Method

I was just in store and my SA said I was his first client to make a wish list in the new system so I thought I’d share. (This is US, by the way, not sure if it differs elsewhere)

He sat right next to me and showed me how it worked. Basically you just select boxes from the list of what you would be open to buying (Bag, size, stitching, leather, color, hw, etc…) You can largely choose as many or as few things as you want, except which bag you are waiting for. There was also a spot for any extra notes. It was very straightforward and I like that there is no wondering if your specs have been heard correctly or whether you are officially “in the system.”

Correlation and not causation with prespend?

I’ve seen several posts recently that people are $50k+ and still waiting for a Mini Kelly. (It’s makijg me wonder whether I ought to pivot to a K25) Do y’all think it’s really what it takes to get to the top of the list or does the spending just rack up along with the wait time? There was a discussion about how people seem to get offers right after buying porcelain, but I think there‘s a high chance that we just get to that spot that we wonder what the heck we are going to buy next to keep ourselves in our SA’s minds and mugs are the only thing left.

Also, I have still not been able to figure out what happens to a high prespend profile if the 2-3 year waiting period lapses?

Let’s talk dopamine.

I was reading recently that how ever high a person’s dopamine swings, that the brain balances it out with a low (think a kid having a tantrum after playing video games). Most of us are working toward something we feel is pretty major. Has anyone purchased their dream bag and then had a hangover? Like “ok now what?” Or just like let down? I’m super curious.

Or maybe it’s what keeps us coming back for QB 2, 3+

(Not to be confused with buyers remorse or finance stress.)

How much does buying a non QB really set you back time wise?

I honestly really love most of the Hermes bags, and my local store always has a few available for purchase in a case. My SA also told me he had another gorgeous non QB available. Things are going great, but my local store simply takes a while due to supply vs demand. I seem to understand that bags don’t count towards pre spend, but if I buy something I genuinely love is it going to set me back for a QB offer? I am already building up pre spend over many other categories.

My first visit in the store! And SA question.

So, I was actually surprised how much I appreciated the craftsmanship over all the areas. I am truly in no hurry and LOVE all the RTW so even if I never get offered a QB I will still have lived a good and complete life. (But I still want one hehe)

I walked in without an appointment, and so simply got paired with a SA who was available. They were SO nice and helpful, explained a ton about the brand, patiently helped me pick out a couple of things (I spent about $2k for starters).

But…they were SO serious! I don’t need a SA to be my best friend but I kept cracking jokes and they were just absolutely stone faced. They did give me their number at the end to make future appointments and inquire about items I am interested in. I honestly don’t know if it was a good first interaction! They don’t have to be my bestie, but is that normal?

Does anyone stick to purses in their color season?

I just did a color analysis and learned, to my shock, that I’m a deep autumn. Now I can’t unsee how drab I look in grey. And while you can pry black out of my cold, dead hands, I do see how it’s not *technically* the best for me. I already have a lot of brown, but I’m pondering the exploration of other colors.

Being picky was worth it

Over the past year or so I’ve really tried to adopt the mantra regarding clothes and bags- “If it’s not a hell yes then it’s a hell no.”

I actually kept a list of criteria on my phone for my most recent bag purchase and committed to not compromise. I spent an embarrassing amount of hours shopping, researching, returning. Almost bought a Goyard but it wasn’t making my heart palpitate.

Anyway, I don’t know if the Miu Miu Ivy Shopper is a new thing or if I just missed it. it’s way more substantial than the regular Ivy bag, but not as fussy as the Aventure. It checked all the boxes and then some and I don’t think I’ve ever loved a bag so much. It‘s just perfect for me and my life.
