I’m gonna start at the beginning here since it’s where she started to go down hill. My cousin Maddie was a shy girl but she was sweet, my aunt was a drug addict since 15 and when she met my uncle they had a girl named Taylor (she comes in later again) Taylor was always kind of a bad influence, she moved an hour away from us and made Facebook posts about how we never talked to her and how she was all alone, she never made an effort to come visit or just talk over phone to check in she just smoked weed and stayed at home all the time Maddie looked up to her like an older sister because she was. after Maddies mother passed away from overdose Taylor hung around her alot more, they started to smoke weed together. one time Maddie told us that Taylor missed their mom soooo much! but she would talk shit about her and call her a druggie even though she was still stable in life and had a house. She was a functioning drug addict on ice (slang for crystal meth) and fentanyl, after my aunt passed away my uncle got into drugs and a guy named Josh started to live in the shed at my aunt and uncles house, he was my aunts dealer before she passed, he was the main focus of Maddie’s fall into this life. At one point maddie and my uncle got so desperate for money they broke into my 90 year old grandmas house while me her and my nana were out at Walmart shopping, she stole her savings of ten thousand dollars and my dead grandpas watch. Your probably wondering how she got the code, Maddie had asked my grandma if she could put something in there and my grandma easily complied. This was a few days prior so this was premeditate. She then sold the watch and we still don’t know what she did with the money, (my grandma has not pressed charges for the money she has stolen my grandma gives her chance after chance and she breaks her trust by either stealing her medication or money) she started to hang around Josh since she still lived at my aunts and uncles at the time (she dropped out) then she started to experiment with ice and god knows what, after a few years of Josh living there my uncle grew tired and annoyed of him freeloading and Josh wouldn’t leave so my uncle for some reason decided to set the shed on fire (which he didn’t actually Josh just blamed it on him because he wanted the house.) my uncle was taken to jail and now currently serving a 5 year sentence, eventually Josh was taken away to jail as well after he was caught for lying, he also had past charges of attempted murder. After that maddie moved out and met a guy who I don’t know the name of yet he’s 39 she was living with him and his parents for a bit until one morning around 8:00am she walked with no shoes on and her absolutely cracked and destroyed phone telling us that her boyfriend had gotten mad at her and smashed her phone, she had walked probably about a mile to us. She then stayed with my grandma again for a bit because we simply just didn’t trust her because she constantly lies and steals. She would leave burnt foil around the house. After that she told my nana she wanted to get clean and get a job, she had her hair severely matted and we paid for her to have it fixed. She took her for the supposed “interview“ at a Marshall’s but the truth was she went into the bathroom and changed after my nana dropped her off she snuck out to her boyfriends car again, she then drove off and was hiding out at a red roof in Jacksonville, my nana went to go see her and said she was all dressed up nice and her hair was curled and makeup done. My mom suggested she was prostituting in the past but my nana shut it down but now it seemed possible. Time skip to about a month or so and my nana is worried about her, she calls her constantly but she doesn’t answer, then her boyfriend reaches out one day saying that she was missing. He gave an update on what they were like and they were living on the side of the streets in a tent. He then immediately switched up and said that she was okay and safe, she even received texts from Maddie but my nana demanded a call from her just to see if it was actually her responding, the last time i saw her she had lost a tremendous amount of weight and her face was breaking out, her teeth looked bad as well. She said she likes this life and she’ll never change. She said that to my nana herself. But yeah that’s my family shit going on didn’t have anyone to tell this to so i thought i might post this on Reddit
