The most fun fight in DS1?

Its gotta be Artorias for me. Manus is cool but his hitboxes can be frustrating. All the other big bosses were kind of underwhelming.

This felt like when the teacher erased the chalk board and missed a spot

Did that drive anyone else insane or was it just me?

Ornstiens lunge is endless

Zaki was clearly bullied alot as a child, there is no other explanation.

I wish i would have snagged a video of an earlier try, where he got stuck behind a pillar and smogh for over a minute, stopped the animation then instantly teleported to me and killed me.

On my last run i killed him during the lunge, then 5 seconds into phase 2 i got hit by the attack and died. So not only is it endless, it transcends death and reality.

This man needs to be in an asylum

The kill and thank you for not bombarding me with "level vigor for godsake" comments. So much more cultured here than the ER reddit lol

4 vigor Fume Knight made me love this boss.

I never really got the hype with Fume Knight in 4 previous matches. But at 4 vig and 90 agi, this fight is super fun. Enough hp to survive a couple glancing blows from the SS. Enough for 1 shot of the UGS, any long telegraphed attack was a 1 shot.

Some of the hit boxes are bigger than they look and linger, but they all have a long telegraph. The only thing that comes out fairly quick is the SS. Im a fan now dudes badass

No solicitors!

Homie diddnt want any girl scout cookies.

**edit: the amount of DM i got telling me i need to level vigor was very sweet lol, but i play at 4 vigor to try to keep some semblance of challenge in the game without limiting myself to a SL1 run where weapon/armor options are very limited. i do appreciate everyones concern though😂

Sweetspots

Im about mid way through a 4 vigor playthrough using only weapons that are considered crappy for the most part. I opted for str and greataxes.

The Black knight greataxe is a beautiful weapon, love the moveset even if it has its issues. The problem with this is the sweetspot. Its easy enough to space it in pve to make it work, but it would be nice if sweet spot actually did extra damage, rather than just not penalizing you. Especially considering the penalty is so heavy, you would expect a benefit on the other end.

I feel like they could have made a ton of weapons more useable for average players by giving a nice bump for a perfect sweetspot hit.

I cant stop playing this game

After a brief hiatus to run through wuchang and RDR2(i felt the need to force myself to play a non souls/ER gamr) i started a run last night where im limiting myself to 4 vigor and 88 agility. Ran through forest/heide last night. I love walking into Majula on a new playthough(#5).

I want to use some unique weapons this time. Not OP weapons. Please suggest out some of your favorite "off the beaten path" weapons. Ive burnt out Katanas, done halberds, demon hammer/dragon tooth.

It feels good to be home

Legendary Bear hunt

I did the mission with Josea, split up. After that played out i stayed to try and finish it. I tracked it, it jumped out of a bush and mauled me, i stabbed it trying to get back up and then unloaded the sawed off into its head once and killed it.

Was this suppose to be an easy tutorial hunt or did i get super lucky

Questions about Reborn

I talked to the story teller and immediately ran and kill the demon boss in the nearby shrine. Then explored some, found fang and he, got their rings(which i read are part of the secret ending after getting both). I then ran in and ganked Reborn.

After beating him i looked him up because i had no idea whats going on storywise at this point, and from what i read i skipped a bunch of stuff and should have gotten a special weapon drop after phase 1... it also mentioned using ash of war and skill damage buffs mid fight so i dunno if any of that is real 😂

Rebel camp

I have really enjoyed wu chang so far. One thing i have noticed is, that despite the areas being beautiful graphics wise, i had not had the wow moments for any of them like when you walk into a majula or limgrave for the first time.

Then i got to the rebel camp, and looking down that ladder into the area finally gave me that feeling lol, and its kind bland enviroment to get that awe feeling from. I guess its because most everything else has been corridors and you dont actually get a top down view of most areas before you go in, or if you do i was missing them.

Any one else feel that way?

Beef with the trash

Im really enjoying the game so far. Finally hit that Honlang fight last night and the combat really is fun once it starts pushing you use all your tools.

But do the trash mobs ever a legit threat? They are so weak and so spaced out, that they just feel kinda pointless, atleast so far.

Where are the gank sqauds at lol?

I decided to see if i could kill the Pontiff casting only, thinking his aggression and range would make it more challenging than melee.

I was wrong, phase 1 i barely had to dodge, just back peddled and soul speared him.

Same with phase 2. It seemed like once i got to a certain range he just stanced and aura farmed for a good 10 seconds and wouldnt react no matter how many spears hit him.

Do all bosses react this way?

*Just to clarify for the 60 vigor summon crowd thats a little slow, the point isnt to show off skill, the point is that I barley made any effort, with 9 vigor, and still won comfortably. therefore, magic is easy mode. Anyone who disagrees is in denial of their crutch. 🤏

I just finished my first ever caster run in a souls game on DS1 and it was a nice change of pace. I decided to try it on ds3 and just wanted some advice from vet casters.

Right now im min reqs for sycthe(raw), then 33ish int, 20 end and everything else at base sorcerer stats. Im going to run at 9vigor through game but afterwards respec for pvp. Whats a good vig point for caster, im planning on trying luck/int.

And are there any tips for free aiming? Especially from a stand still. i am hot garbage at it unless im able to walk towards the target, and even then im just cold garbage.

Video is just because i was proud of myself for clapping them on my 2nd try and id like a pat on the back.

Super fun fight. Realized about halfway that baiting the thrust gave the best opening for a heavy attack. This is only the 2nd time ive faced him(outside of NR) and on the first run i had a full build so it wasnt much of a fight.

Just got Manus and 4 kings left now.

https://youtu.be/Q-fcyaLteqY -4 Kings

https://youtu.be/ZqZ9B1mcwqk - Manus

https://youtu.be/ToPWlfkaGmE - Gwyn (no parry)

crossed the finished line. was a really fun run, all bosses, no vit, no cheese strats.

u/Terrusmarkz1988 — 2 months ago

I just did Sanctuary Guardian on my no Vit run. My god did i want to punch whoever created him over n over on the first few attempts lol.

I ended up no hitting him on the 10th try after i got a sense for the hitboxes. Hes actually kinda fun. I apolgize for all the horrible things i said about the developers in my living room.
