Post S2 "Enid retrieval" fic recs

There's been a lot of negativity recently with certain events in the fandom (and fandom as whole) so I thought it would be nice if we could share some good stories. We've lost one of the big post-s2 fics about saving Enid, so here's some recs that will scratch that itch. All of these are complete:

You'll Have Problems Hunting Me Down by Mercury_Milkshakes

>Breaking Rosaline Rotwood's Curse is very different from surviving it.

>By surviving 24 hours, they managed to postpone the consequences, but it could only go dormant for so long. Three weeks after Wednesday promised to hunt Enid down, the curse woke up.

>Continuation of Season 2.

A personal favourite of mine, definitely in my top 10 fandom fics.

Lamb to the Slaughter by anonymousjackrusselterrier

>Enid’s alpha form was ludicrously easy to track. The messy trail of bear carcasses, fallen trees, and deep clawed scars in the earth might as well have been a blinking neon sign for the Addams family hunting party.

>No, tracking wasn’t the problem.

>The problem was all the other werewolves.

>---

>Or, Wednesday won't let anything stand in her way of finding Enid. Not even packs of angry werewolves.

>And especially not the annoying twisting in her stomach that pops up every time she thinks about her best friend. That would only serve as a distraction.

forget me not by Zapcrictifier

>"You're right. We should save all our butt-kicking for that psycho Galpin. I'm going to have a field day bashing his stupid face in." She pauses and laughs, "Wednesday's been rubbing off on me too much."

>The beast says nothing, for the names bear no meaning or importance to it.

I'm prepared to sacrifice my life (I would gladly do it twice) by SpookyAutumnLeaves

>“Kneel.” a wolf hunter spits the command at her, face contorting into a wicked grin, obviously enjoying this.

>This is an execution. She realises, stomach dropping. Her Addams brain is screaming at her to ignore the command, to fight, to maim, to kill, or to at least try. But she can’t, not if…

>For Enid.

>The single thought quietens her rebelling instincts, and she lowers herself to the ground, knees hitting the mud in surrender.

>And the hunters jeer.

>***

>Wednesday tries to sacrifice herself to save Enid’s life from hunters.

>Enid is not amused.

Finding Enid by H3lioN

>Wednesday promised to hunt Enid down. Five months later, she’s no closer than when she set out from Nevermore.

>Surely this won’t have any adverse effects of her.

Denial is a most reliable shovel by spaceosshy, True_tiny_gay

>Chasing Enid across the Canadian wilderness, while contending with both the looming shadow of a folklore horror and the emotional mutiny of her own heart, is proving to be quite the challenge for Wednesday Friday Addams.

To Chase What Runs by echointhewall

>Enid can't change back. The Council wants her dead. Wednesday wants her home.

>And maybe, finally, Wednesday will stop being a coward about three simple words.

I've also written several works that are all set post S2 and cover the retrieval to various extents, but the only one that focuses on it is:

The Pilgrimage by aerocon

>At the end of her hunt for a wolfed out Enid, Wednesday finds the mining town of Copperburn deep in the Canadian wilderness. The town sits quiet and abandoned, left to rot.

>A ghost town.

Fanfic writing resource: school subjects

So I kept getting stuck whilst writing fic, spending ages thinking up random subjects for classes at Nevermore. I personally hate the Harry Potter approach (where every class is magical and no one learns Maths) so I wanted a range of magical, non magical and both.

I spent a while drawing up a list of things I think could conceivably be taught at Nevermore so that in future I could just grab something from it. Figured I'd post it, in case it's helpful for anyone else.

I've included the canon subjects that I can remember, even when they're dumb (fencing should be a club not a class).

Coop focused/exclusive communities

Is anyone aware of any communities online that focus on coop boardgames? I've had a browse around reddit and couldn't see anything here, something forum based would be preferred but could go to discord if that's all that was around.

I exclusively buy coop games and only play games with competitive elements if my friends twist my arm (I blame it on growing up with a sibling who was a very sore loser). Most games don't state the style of play unless you're reading the fine print on the back (and often not even then), so it can be exhausting wading through all of that only to find it's comp - which, let's face it, 99% of the are. Even worse if the art/design is absolutely killer.

So just wondering if anyone has a good resource/community for keeping up to date with coop gaming news and releases etc!
