Though he did not define it for me, Serfaty informed many of my early views regarding Zionism. I remember reading his letter : https://www.historicalmaterialism.org/article/letter-to-the-damned-of-israel/ when I was in early university days and it resonated deeply. I am neither religious or Jewish, so it was something I just instinctively or rather intuitively understood being from a family where one member had died in a Nazi camp and seeing for myself the patterns encroachment and behaviors of Zionists on the political and military stages.

I wasn't going to post as, tbh, I feared negative reaction. I am still learning groups boundaries and as a recent retiree, I am just new to reddit. I have reconsidered though given questions about Zionism asked here, and so here are some thoughts I have put together about it. One philosophical and one situational and neither are manifestos, just my considered takes. I am very protective of peoples rights to self determine their faith, views, identity, gender and political understandings, and so would ask any readers of my hyper-graphic fugue of the last week to be kind in any response. I'm too old to go back into closets and these are just my diaries.

Palestinian politician Mohammad Dahlan claimed that the US had provided guarantees Israel would halt its assault on Gaza but later deleted his post.

"Israel will continue to attack Gaza despite Hamas agreeing to surrender its weapons, Energy Minister Eli Cohen said Sunday.

In an interview with Israel Army Radio, Cohen denied claims that Israel had agreed to end its assault and backed a full military takeover of Gaza.

Exiled Palestinian official Mohammad Dahlan had earlier claimed that the US would ensure Israel ends its assault on Gaza following Hamas's agreement to disarm.

In a post on Saturday, the former Fatah official said he had received assurances from Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner that Israel would from Sunday observe the ceasefire and end its attacks.

"Mr. Jared Kushner has assured us that he has reached an agreement with the Israeli side to cease the assaults on Gaza starting tomorrow morning," he wrote on social media on Saturday evening."

"Footage released on Thursday by Iranian TV IRIB showed rescue teams clearing rubble in search of victims at a residential building in the Chah-Tango neighbourhood of Qeshm Island following a US strike.  The Director General of Crisis Management of the Hormozgan Governorate said that the search and rescue operations were ongoing after the house belonging to a family of five was struck in the attack.  "So far, two children have been pulled out from under the rubble and transferred to medical centres, and efforts are ongoing to rescue three other members of this family," Mehrdad Hassanzadeh said."
