I must confess...

it's incredibly difficult and heartbreaking, tearing me apart from the inside, but...

I...

I really like tt xD

it's like saying a slur after all the unpleasant things we had with tts

as a playable, not for being busted but for general model, kit, animations, etc.

stats were never the thing I was sticking to, just the dino itself, and I stopped playing it when I found out it was actually overpowered, but now it's nerfed, so maybe I'll try it again.

tho I have mained playables whose main threat is tt, and I had a long phase killing tts on my solo lat, dedicating 12-20 minutes to it.

and I used to main it for a few weeks after I got chopped by some tts on a fresh TLC pre-nerf bars. I just decided to become my opponent and learn it from inside.

and it's very beautiful, the kit is cool.

Best and worst playables in terms of vocals?

For me, the best ones are:

  1. amarga

  2. allo

  3. struthi + campto

Honourable mention: lamb+styra (their voices feel strong as heck), laten, iggy, pyc

Atrocious vocals straight up from hell:

  1. ACHI

  2. kai + eurhi (but it's so rare to hear them for terrestrial players that it's still ok...)

  3. pachy

Dishonourable mention: flyers, bars (I'M SORRY, bars is ma main T-T), mira

ppl on PoT subreddit politely helpling the newbie and discussing about best beginner dinos and basic tips again and again for 4 years

(it will be the only polite and wholesome encounter for a newbie until they decide to either stick to officials and accept their vanilla fate or go to community servers with rules)

Subspecies with biggest impact?

The most impactful subspecies are on amarg, achi and rhamp.

amarg literally changes your build depending on having spikes or not.

+acceleration achi can instantly gain speed and start running fast. I call it the naked achi, and I can never look at it without my eyes bleeding. I will never regrow my fluffy-collar achi into that nudist thing even if I am more vulnerable.

2x health stealing rhamp can tank 1-2-tiers even when they're biting it while it's latched.

What playables have strong subspecies impact, too? Maybe +jump subspecies on raptors, because I run +jump lat and deinon, and all my +stam recovery/+night attack lats in a team swim everywhere I don't swim.

Some wholesome little in-game moments

  1. players using their special emotes. Dancing pycs, rhamps showing their wings, nodding cera, etc.

  2. two or several players with the same skin (AND colors). When I'm in a team, I try to shed into skins my teammate uses (especially on lat, because I have all of the skins)

  3. playables with adopted babies of the same species/ completely same-species group

  4. stego with round scutes

  5. some subspecies being a bit fluffy

  6. allo's vocals. this is the only dino I don't think "please shut the hell up" when they spam aggro call at me. Sometimes I am anticipating the aggro call, too...

  7. choosing 3 unique fliers over pteranodon (THANK GOD). Pteranodon had been pursuing me since "Ice Age 3" at certain locations when I was playing Buck, and on BoB and TI. No matter how much I hate fliers, I love fliers and pterosaurs

  8. juvi bald subspecies pyc

  9. healing in peace after a successful escape/fight /// escaping the revenge chase and scouting and healing in peace

  10. being tiny and helping apexes build nests

  11. maining / playing certain playables for a while, then meeting these playables when you're some other playable and being like "I know your needs" when seeing they're building a nest / roaming around probably hungry

  12. getting jumped/stalked by a solo rex as some 1-2-3-4-tier. It may sound masochistic, but I never mind it, because it actually feels dangerous and...right!

When you want to play some semi-aquatic, but that means you'll encounter 150 aggro KOS any-aquatics in every puddle

Dry sucho build enjoyers, tell us more about this playstyle

I know that dry build sucho sprints longer, but is lighter. So, what can one compare it to? Is it a chunkier allo in terms of dealing bleed? Or it's something different from anything terrestrial?

I have been loving all-purpose build, and I wanted to try the dry build, but the thing that bothers me is that you can't cope with rains like dry duck can with "dry out ability", because for some reason the drying call isn't made to work when it's raining...

Do you play solo, in groups, or both? Please take part in a 1-question poll on Google Forms (link below)

I made a poll about this on Reddit today, but it's Reddit-only, and the information should be objective. I would like to spread the Google forms poll on different platforms. You can help me spreading it (wisely, without spamming), because I only use Reddit and not Facebook/any other platforms, and I don't really know how to use Discord servers effectively, but I'll try to publish the poll there in chats.

Maybe send your friends this poll.

Who else thought that the nesting update would turn global chat into Tinder?

Yeah, it's just the time to talk about it xD

Honestly, I thought we would get some mating system, and I even had some period of time when I was making characters female knowing that most people run males (ofc not sacrificing my own interests, because I always prefer duller colors over bright stuff)

This detail seems so tiny, but it would have added more complex and engaging mechanics into the game. Like, you would need to find a playable of the opposite sex, meet each other, survive until you actually get to each other, get an egg (with or without any primitive mating mechanic), and later, maybe even in the next gaming session, find a player that would like to get a baby invite. It's only 1 more step for getting a baby, but it's already a lot of activities, especially for 4-5-slots that are on different edges of the map.

UPD: also, there would be some situations where 2 animals of the same species met, approached each other, and found out that they can/cannot mate. That would give us some interesting interactions.

UPD 2: also, The nests would be much more valuable, because you might have an egg slot, and you don't want to lose it just because you were lazy building a nest at some safe spot far from the main resources bunch.

Happiest investment in my life ever

I also got the backer sucho that can look tuxedo. Wanted to buy amarg backer for a while, but the pattern has too sharp edges and makes the animal look plastic..

What would make PoT more interesting for you? + discussion below

I have all the main dino genre games: PoT, The Isle, Beasts of Bermuda. I haven't played TI much but watched some videos about it and know most mechanics and principles of it.

What can I say? PoT, which is considered boring, is definitely more rewarding and interesting for me than Bob. BoB experience was extremely toxic, and the mechanics were a bit confusing for me. And I was using pterosaurs most of the time and not even the big things! It was just like what people complain about when it comes to PoT: poor diets, meaningless toxic fights, but worse, because the graphics and fps are even worse.

Unfortunately I can't say much about TI, but if they have the cheaters and megapackers/moxpacker and it's ALWAYS permadeath...I would have gone insane from this absolute frustration.

I have two takes. The first one is that dino games are still animal games, and there's not much to do in the animal world. The second one is that you can still make it more interesting. C

More complex diets, mating/grouping mechanics, more interactions with the environment (if it's something from realism), and more game modes/doing something to megapacking/combat/slot system/etc (if it's about MMO RPG part).

but, you know...as the scratch the tree quest was added, it's so clear that it's just another quest which doesn't make you feel immersed in the game more. It's just extra 15 marks from the adolescent stage on a certain baobab-like tree in the middle of the forest terrain. And you can leave it, if you want a less lively gaming experience for players, or you can add more immersing mechanics along with scratching the tree.

So, what do you think? What would make your experience more fun in this game? If we are talking about the mechanics and not the famous DS group problem.

I personally bought this game when we didn't have AOE and anime/Marvel attacks, and maybe a lot of players expected not what we're slowly getting...

You know what? I would love to have the MMO RPG and the more realistic attacks modes, bit maybe it's difficult to implement, and the servers would be split with not enough players everywhere.

Any tips from stego players?

I used to solo stegs on my laten, but now I'm the stego one. Stego's weakness is being predictable and falling for baits.

I try not to fall for opponents' baits and sometimes move unpredictability ( just suddenly moving backwards or turn my tail to the side with precise movement), but what else can you do?

Apexes and 4-slots are not as much of the problem as 2-3-tiers.
