Single vs dual band GPS

I'm debating on buying a Garmin watch, and which one. I'm currently leaning towards the Instinct E, mostly because of it's lower price compared to the rest (important point for a student like me. I'll use the watch mostly during working out (gym/running) for insights into my HR etc, and while hiking for the same but also for navigation. I won't sleep with it on or wear it the entire day, it's mostly for activities.

The biggest thing that's making me debate is the single-band GPS on the Instinct E. How does this fair on the trail? I'm aware the navigation is limited without maps, but I don't mind. If I need a map it's on my phone on my pocket.

If there's any other advice you have about this model or any other instinct model, would be greatly appreciated!
