Rust cleaning and prevention tips?

I been cleaning up a bunch of old tools that have been buried in the garage a few years.

Mostly I been running a drill w wire wheel , and then rustoleum gel, and then coat in white lithium grease.

Does anyone have better suggestions than this? Is there a better lubricant/coating to prevent future rust?

Lump sum or Pension?

I am 62, gonna retire in a year or so. No debt, everything paid off.

I have about 350k in a 401/roth account.

I may work a different job, less hours. So as to delay social security. which will be in the 2400 a month range, Expenses are low.

My question is, my current employer offers an option on th epension, I can get a lump which is currently around 320k..and that can go straight into the 401 if I like.

Or I can take the pension...a fixed 1800 for life.

I realize, if I can leave that alone for 3 or 5years...its almost a no brainer to take the Lump.

What is the typical view here?

But

These are the same Guitars..

I got the 6 string a few years ago.and about 3 weeks ago..got the 12 string. Noticed that both are "classic design" by Fender.I suppose I find it mildly interesting is all.. pretty sure the only real difference is that the necks and bridges are different.. otherwise pretty identical.

Total coincidence that I got a matching set of sorts.

Both are pretty decent for the money..the 12 string was slightly over 400 USD out the door..got a free strap as well.I think the 6 string was around the same..I don't remember exactly.
