Wedding Guest Options that are long enough to be floor length

Need recommendations for a wedding. The dress code is black tie optional but all the sample pictures on the dress code part of the invite are floor length. Does anyone have recommendations of where I could get a dress that would actually be floor length for someone who is 6’ barefoot and around 6’2 in kitten heels. Thank you! :)

Financial Aid Billing

Hello,

with the final bill that just got released yesterday, has financial aid already been removed? It seems a lot higher than my calculations based on estimates from last year.

So, has financial aid already been factored in or has it not been applied yet?

Thank you :)

How strictly enforced are the prohibited items rules in Northwood?

First time student starting a masters. I have a 3d printer I want to bring and also a life-sized recreation of the blood demon sword from the show Adventure Time.

Is there a chance any of these items will be confiscated per the prohibited items list?

Thank you :)

Anticipation of something is significantly more rewarding than the actual thing and I think most people subconsciously prefer it

I feel like 98% of the time, the lead up to a thing, regardless of what it is [gift, event, seeing a person etc etc] tends to be more fun than actual getting/doing the thing. I think that the time you get to build up something in your head and your brain gets to imagine all the fun you’ll have already gives you a dopamine hit that might sometimes be bigger than what you would get after getting the thing you’ve been waiting on.

And to clarify I’m talking about positive things but tbh it goes for negative things too but in the opposite direction. The dread waiting for grades to come out in high school was always so much worse than what the actual outcome was, even when the out come was still decisively not great.

Staple Takeout Recommendations near North Campus

New incoming grad student. I just graduated from a pretty big public university right near downtown Chicago so I kept a rotation of cheap delicious takeout options whenever I didn’t want to cook.

I’m moving in 2 weeks early to Northwood and want to have a similar rotation of good takeout spots but don’t want to spend a year developing it myself again lol.

So if you have recommendations please drop them so I can try them all before classes start. Thank you!

How do laundry hookups work? [Northwood I, new grad student]

Hello, I’m really struggling to find any information on this so I’m asking here. I got assigned my housing assignment [Northwood I, 2 person economy apartment] and noticed that it has “laundry hookups” in the floor plan. When I searched what those are it came up that I’m expected to buy my own washer and gas dryer and hook them up. So, does anyone have any idea how much that would cost to get both or any you have bought in the past that worked well and are reasonably priced?

I’ve only lived in dorms during undergrad too and they just had communal laundry rooms so I don’t have the slightest clue how to go shopping for a good washer and dryer that will also be compatible with the school laundry hookups.

Thank you! :)

MArch + M.U.D in 2 years?

Just wondering if it is at all possible. I got into the 2-year m.arch program and i'm wondering if I decide to double major with an M.U.D [typically a 3-year dual degree] would I be able to take credit overloads and complete it in 2? Tried to look it up online and didn't find any concrete answers.

Thanks!
