We Deserve Better - Boeing CEO made a statement and they have not followed through on it

In the all company meeting nearly three years ago, then CEO Dave Calhoun stated "We don't want any of our people to lose ground to inflation." (see recording from all company webcast Nov 8, 2023, question posed 27:15 in)

Boeing has not held up their end of that statement. We have fallen behind inflation around 10% since our current contract started. To have the same buying power that we had at the start of our contract we need a 10% raise tomorrow. NOT a 3% raise this past February.

Boeing needs us to certify one more aircraft this year - right around the time our contract expires. And another early next year. We have massive leverage right now to get the minimum that we deserve - wages that match inflation.
NO on contract
YES on Strike Authorization

Boeing's 'Wage Modeler' is full of poop

Their modeler assumes a maximum use of the performance pool (Section 11.7) which states "Generally, these funds are intended to support compensation adjustments for high performing individuals with low market positioning."

So only a VERY small amount of people will get any of those funds. Just being a high performer doesn't guarantee it. Yet the modeler assumes you will get it every year. So do the summaries put out by SPEEA and Boeing.

Don't trust the summaries. Read the actual contract red lines.
Raise pools are 6, 5, 5, 5, per Table 1 in Section 11.1. That is what you can hope for. NOT 7, 5.5, 5.5, 5.5.

Vote NO.
The more people that vote against, the better our leverage for the next one.

Never vote yes on a first contract. Especially one that will not get you back to your pre-covid buying power.

Can I tension this belt?

Over the past year the roller has started getting more and more finicky on carpets. Now it won't even start spinning while sitting on a carpet when set at one off the highest level, when we used to vacuum that carpet one off the bear floor setting.

I replaced the belt with a factory replacement. I tried replacing the roller. Neither helped the issue. There is a wheel under the belt close to the roller but it is not spring-loaded, and I can't see any way to adjust it.

Is there some other way to adjust tension on the belt that I missed? Or are there other belts a few millimeters shorter that I can try instead?

Hoover model UH70210

Yes, I did contact hoover. They told me to clean the roller, and if that didn't work to take it to a shop like 4 hours away.
