LAP-RACK

Everything started with an old laptop... And then it snowballed into this masterpiece!

The 3D model is the KWS v.2 Rack

Using my old MSI gf63 8rd laptop as my main Docker host and an Optiplex 7010 with a 12500T for my game servers

Also the DAS at the bottom for my Jellyfin media

Prowlarr indexers alternative?

I use public / semi public indexers and i feel like its so Iffy because there are so many different uploaders in an index and having multiple indexers dosent help. Sometimes it downloads shows that are 200mb per episode and other times 1gb per episode, also having random unrelevant audio tracks like Italian is not necessarily useful to me. Some movies and shows also are missing subtitles. Ive tried using bazarr (i think its called that, the subtitles manager) but sites like opensubtitles are paid and i dont really feel like paying for subtitles. What is there that can somewhat fix my issue here.

I wish i could shower without it being a hassle

I shower 1-2 times a week because of my shitty skin. I hate it so much and I wish that ill be able to shower normally someday.

Before showering i need to be mentally prepared, everything is itching and stinging in the shower.

And after that the moisturizing ritual. Im so red, sticky and oily afterwards. I hate that.

I hope that we can find a cure someday

How do i achieve the Monochrome minimalism feeling for my setup?

Its in a 2x2 (meters) room because there is genuinely no other place for it. Any recommendations are appreciated!

From whta I understand is that this account screening that uses is fully AI and there is no real humans that double check those bans. Also that the appeal process is straight up AI-driven. Do i say bye bye to discord and all of my friends after 9 years?

I just appealed but from what I understod is that i cant use discord at all til my suspension ends???

Upgrade from R50 to R7?

TL;DR: Happy with R50 image quality but want better video features and controls. Need IBIS for smoother footage, headphone monitoring + mic input, dual SD, and faster handling. R7 seems ideal, worth upgrading from R50?

Hey everyone,

I currently have a Canon R50 and honestly I’m really happy with the image quality. I don’t really feel limited there at all, especially for APS-C. I also want to stay with Canon RF since all my gear is already in that ecosystem and I prefer staying APS-C because of my lenses.

Lately I’ve started getting more into video, and that’s where I’m starting to feel limited by the R50.

My biggest issue is usability and missing shots because of the lack of buttons/dials. Sometimes changing settings takes too long and I end up missing moments. I also want something that feels a bit more capable for hybrid shooting.

For video specifically, I’d really like:

• IBIS to help reduce micro jitters / micro stutters in movement. I already use a gimbal, but I still notice small jitters in footage. It’s fixable in post, but I’d prefer smoother footage straight out of camera if possible.

• Headphone monitoring + mic input at the same time (R50 only has mic in, no headphone jack).

• Dual SD card slots for redundancy.

• Better controls / ergonomics.

Current lenses:

• Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN (RF-S)

• EF-S 55-250mm IS STM (adapted)

After researching, I’ve pretty much landed on the R7 since it seems to check almost every box I want, but I’d like to hear from people in a similar situation.

For people who moved from an R50 (or similar APS-C Canon body) to an R7, was it worth it mainly for video and usability?

Also, how good is the IBIS in real use for reducing those tiny jitters? I’m not expecting gimbal-level stabilization, just smoother footage and less micro shake.

One more thing I forgot to mention: I also use an RS3 Pro with tracking that relies on the camera’s HDMI feed. On the R50, I’ve found it limiting that I can’t have the camera screen and HDMI output active at the same time while also recording internally to the SD card. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely annoying for video work. Has anyone using an R7 with a gimbal/tracking setup had a better experience?
