If I get the Schwab investor card, can I transfer my American Express points to the Schwab investor card and keep the points separate from Cash back?

I have a lot of American Express points from the Gold Card, I want to cancel the Gold card and transfer points to Investor card but do not want them exchanged into cash back but use them eventually on a trip. Would this work? Or do the points automatically transfer to cash back?
