Caught 3 in 5 minutes
Always a good day on the water. Literally no luck for first 40 minutes then things changed.

Got 4,5, and 6 within 15 minutes of each other. Just a bobber, split shot, and hook and night crawler.
Definitely my PB for number of fish caught! It was a good 2.5 hours of fun.
Finally had success with crankbait! Forgot my worms. Ended up testing different lures. Landed two fish with a jigging motion along the bank with lipless crankbait.
It was sunny, low 70s, with occasional cloud cover at a local pond.
My wife went thrifting last week. I asked her to keep an eye out for any fishing gear like rods, tackle boxes etc.
Landed a brand new rod/reel combo with tackle for $11. Never been opened. Caught some sunfish a few days later with it!
I’m a US Citizen. I go to Cabo 1-2x per year for vacation. I’ve done a couple deep sea fishing but want to do some shore fishing.
Did some research on Claude. Results said I don’t need a license to shore fish for certain beaches. It looks like some beaches like Chileno are marine reserves so I can’t fish it. I’m mostly interested in Palmilla.
Can anyone verify for me? Or have experience?
Daily driving: mostly freeway/city, sand at lakes, winter snow on asphalt + dirt, and dirt trails into the mountains (no rock crawling). ~105k miles, replacing tires from ~60k.
Sticking to Costco brands (BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Pirelli, Michelin). My shortlist, ranked:
**1. Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent** — leaning toward this. Best on-road manners + best snow/ice of the group in testing, quiet, 60k warranty, 3PMSF. Fits my mostly-pavement use.
**2. BFGoodrich KO3** — if I want a tougher 3-ply sidewall for mountain dirt roads. More off-road capable, but noisier/heavier and weaker wet braking.
**3. Firestone Destination X/T** — budget pick, rugged AT, 3PMSF.
**4. Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT** — most aggressive, very capable, but feels like overkill since I don’t crawl (pricier, noisier, shorter treadlife).
I have a stock 2019 Toyota 4Runner SR5. Had it for 4 years now. Got it at 50k and just past 104k miles.
I think I’m finally ready to start customizing it 😅
What are your recommendations to start with?
A few insights for hobbies and location - I’m in Utah. I enjoy fishing, just got into skiing a couple years ago, would like to get back into camping.
I started using Profound a few months ago for my b2b saas company. It’s been super helpful uncovering competitors and also helping execute actual tactics to improve AEO.
Anyone else on the platform? Or using something similar?
