Play what YOU like

Hi everyone:

I’m a newish streamer, 5 months in this month.

I wanted to share something that may seem obvious, but I’m sure other streamers have fallen into as well.

I started my channel as a cozy streamer only playing Fields of Mistria. Quickly decided I wanted to play some other games, added in Resident Evil and saw my channel really start to grow.

I started fixating a little bit on what games I would play once I was done with Resident Evil games that would keep an audience.

I found that Hollow Knight while an Indie game was very popular. So I decided to start playing that on my channel not knowing anything about it. Went in completely blind, which I do not recommend if you are not familiar with the Metroidvania genre. Over the course of playing, I found myself getting more and more frustrated, unhappy on stream, taking days off. I came to the decision that I need to stop playing Hollow Knight because it just wasn’t for me, but I really struggled because I saw that people liked watching me play and it brought in more new viewers.

I put it to a poll on social media and found that everyone was like play what you love, if you’re not having fun, the viewers aren’t having fun.
I was repeatedly told if viewers really like me, they will stick around regardless of what I’m playing.

All this to say, play what you like, what brings you joy or makes you happy and the viewers will have a great time too!

Protein Coffee Recommendations

Hi everyone:

I am about 1 month into my weight loss journey.
Down 7.6lbs with the help of Adipex. Still have about 34lbs to lose. But I’m on my way!

Some background: I tried for 3 years to lose weight on my own prior to requesting medication assistance from PCP.
Various diets (weight watchers, low carb/no carb, intermittent fasting) none of which took weigh off even in combination with exercise.

I am currently drinking Atkins coffee shakes which contains 15g of protein, 3 net carbs, 1g of sugar and 3g of fiber.

Rather than purchasing premade, I would like to make my own protein coffee.

I was thinking of using my go to Isopure Zero Protein Vanilla which has 25g of protein, but I am wondering if there is something better.

Let me know if you’ve found something you like with good macros and possibly good flavors but I’m not super picky about that.

Thank you in advance!

Camera Suggestions

Since twitch is now offering streams in 2K, I am looking to upgrade the webcam I’m using.
I have the Logitech 920 which is 1080p.
I would prefer to keep using a webcam
Rather than a traditional camera.
I’m still new to streaming (4 months in) so I’m not trying to spend more than $100 right now.

Does anyone have any that they would suggest?

Thanks!!!

W Sunday Stream!

My community woke up and decided to be absolutely feral with bits and subs today.
I couldn’t be more humbled or grateful that people want to support me.

I’m still pretty new. 4 months in so this was a wild experience!

Pretty Proud of these numbers

Some background on me:
35F living in US. Currently playing Spyro and resident evil. Live 5 days a week for 3-4hours at a time. I started streaming as a hobby to meet fellow gamers as none of my irl friends are into video games

I’ve seen streaming for about 3.5 months (since March 14th). I’m really working on consistency in my schedule and games that I play. I raid out every stream and I network in my free time on threads, IG and TikTok.

I never dreamed that my numbers would look like this so quickly and I am so thankful for my community that I’m building.

I seem to have found what works for me. Sometimes it just takes some trial and error but I truly feel there are enough viewers out there for all of us to find communities and thrive!

Celebration Ideas for Follower Goals

I am almost at 350 followers and I’m looking for ideas on ways to celebrate hitting these milestones. I tend to struggle with stuff like this.

I’m thinking an 8 hour stream, movie night or community game night. Are these too basic?

Any suggestions or ways to better these ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Suggestions for LED lights

I’m looking to make my background more interesting and eye-catching on my stream. Was thinking of some of those LED strip lights that can change color and was wondering if anybody had any favorite brands or if they are certain features I should look for.

Looking for advice

I plan on hosting a raffle for 2 digital gift cards (steam, Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo)
Since I met my sub and follower goal recently.

I’m just looking for some guidance on the best way to go about it.
I’m based in the US but I know some followers/viewers are international.

I have stream elements chatbot and sery bot. Was planning on using them to pick a winner. Is there a better option? Also best site to buy gift cards on once they pick?

Any feedback is appreciated

It’s starting to Pay off!

I started streaming Mar 14 of this year. Hit affiliate on Mar 24th.
I’ve been really focusing on consistency with my schedule, ensuring I raid after every stream and engage with my viewers.

I could use some improvement with short form content. Currently use Nexus clips but pay them inconsistently. However I see the trend moving
upward and it’s a great feeling!!!

Hoping to keep improving and building my community!

Proud of how far I’ve come!

I’ve been streaming 2 months and I think these are my best numbers to date!
Hoping subs will just come with time

I have been contemplating getting a capture card to start streaming switch games in addition to PC games.

Looking for recommendations for affordable capture cards as I am still pretty new to all this.
