The Art of Star Wars: Andor

The latest book on my YouTube channel is The Art of Star Wars: Andor, the newly released book that covers all episodes of the show. The book is superb, just like the many Star Wars artbooks that came before it. It comes as a large hardcover with 288 pages, making it a big shelf-filler too. You can watch the preview here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_MIf8w4oxI

It's one of my favourite releases of the year, sharing a lot of great artwork and a lot of in-depth details about the making of the show. You can read my full thoughts on the book in my review too, found here - https://www.artbookcollector.com/post/book-review-the-art-of-star-wars-andor

The Art of Avatar: Fire and Ash review

The new artbook is out in the UK and I have been able to sit with the book and give my thoughts!
The art is spectacular as expected and covers the characters, costumes, locations, weapons, and more. You don't get early sketches like in some books, but you get a lot of frame-worthy pieces throughout. There are a lot of deep insights too, both about the art, and the making of the movie itself.

There is some image loss in the centre fold though due to the binding, and the black pages are terrible for not just fingerprints, but smudges in general. The use of space isn't ideal at times either.

It's that time of the month again where I share a list of books coming over the next month!
It's a nice mix for July, which includes artbooks for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, Tyler Kirkham, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and Final Fantasy: Rebirth.

Also, The Art of Star Wars: Andor is out today! You can read my review of it ahead of my video here - https://www.artbookcollector.com/post/book-review-the-art-of-star-wars-andor

Spider-Man: Brand New Day – The Art of the Movie cover art revealed with a potential page count drop

Ahead of its release on August 4th, the artbook finally has its cover art!

Sadly though, the page count may also have dropped from the usual 224, to 208, as seen on some retail sites. This could be to accommodate the lower price of $50.

If interested, you can find a full breakdown here - https://www.artbookcollector.com/post/spider-man-brand-new-day-the-art-of-the-movie-cover-art-and-potential-new-details-revealed

'The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty' Now Coming in July as the Delays Continue

I feel like the bringer of bad news when I should be sharing a review for the book, but yet again the English edition of the artbook has been delayed. It was due out today, but when I checked my order, it said it was out of stock. After looking online and expecting another delay after the 5 previous ones, it was confirmed through more up to date listings that it is now coming July 7th.

Very frustrating, at this point I'm wondering how much the sales will be impacted and why the Japanese publisher doesn't release it themselves in English, rather than waiting 3 years to do it through another company.

'The Art and Making of Daggerheart' Book Re-emerges

Hi all, you may remember that last year I shared an article about an early listing for the artbook before it was taken down. It's time for another update as it has appeared again, this time with a new placeholder cover and author.

Currently, there are very few listings for the book, with some under the title NA, which implies this could be taken down again as it could be another early mishap, but it went up today with some new details.

TTRPGs don't often get a dedicated artbook like this, so it's an interesting one!

Artbook Predictions: XBOX Games Showcase June 2026

My third and final list of possible artbooks comes after the XBOX showcase, featuring 17 games based on what was shown. From the most likely future artbook reveals, to some that have a small chance, and others that already have them, there is a lot for collectors to be excited about.

Spryo: A Realm Beyond has me very excited, I love both the games and previous artbook. Halo and Gears are also games and books I'm looking forward to as well. Gamers and art fans are being spoilt!

Summer Game Fest 2026: The Most Likely Future Artbooks

I went over Summer Game Fest and picked out 15 games that could get the artbook treatment in the future!

Final Fantasy VII: Revelations, Cuphead, Alien: Isolation 2, and more, are likely candidates, with others being less likely, but entirely possible. The shows have been great so far and I can see a wave of books heading our way.

Artbook Predictions: PlayStation State of Play June 2026

After the State of Play I went over the games to see which are most likely to get the artbook treatment. I did this for the last SoP as well, and will likely do the same for Friday's Summer Games Fest presentation. It's a fun overview of what stands out based on the types of games shown and the studios history with previous artbooks.

There are some obvious picks here for Wolverine and God of War Laufey, but others have a shot too.

Upcoming Artbooks: June 2026

My monthly list of books to keep an eye out for is now up! This month I am tracking 8 releases, with comic and manga fans eating well in June. The month includes releases for Star Wars: A New Hope - The Manga, Andor, the One Piece series, and Swapped.

I'm personally excited for The Art of Star Wars: Andor, because those books are always fantastic and it was good to see the artbook series return this year. The rest of 2026 is filling up nicely too, there's a lot to look forward to!

Artbook News Roundup: May 2026

Another month comes to an end, and so I have given an overview of the stories I have covered in my latest roundup. Cover updates, delays, Kickstarters, new reveals, and more, can be found this month. A lot of comic book stuff this time, but also some reveals for The Transformers: The Movie, Terraria, Faith, and One Piece.

Let me know what you think and kindly visit my website if you like it, all the stories came from there, but Google's AI push is threatening to kill all of its traffic and forcing it to shit down. I'm fighting to keep it going though! Find it here - www.artbookcollector.com

Mythology: The DC Comics Art of Alex Ross

Looking back to a book release from 2003 this week on the YouTube channel, but the incredible artwork of Alex Ross is timeless and the good news is, that the book is still available too!

Inside are hundreds of images, from Ross, including some from his childhood, before sharing his sketches, paintings, interiors, and more of his work at DC Comics. It wastes no space and delivers a huge amount to pore over, making it a great book for his fans.

'Shovel Knight: Ultimate Design Works' Delayed Last Minute to November 2026

The upcoming artbook for Shovel Knight was due out next week, but at the finish line has been delayed all the way back to November 17th. It's very frustrating as this is an expanded edition of an already great book, but will now have over 100 extra pages and an upgrade to a hardcover. Hopefully it is the only delay for the book, but Udon have a habit of giving books multiple date changes

Star Wars Art: Illustration

On the YouTube channel this week is Star Wars Art: Illustration from 2012 that features a unique mix of art for posters, prints, books, games, and more, all in a variety of styles from some of the best in the industry. It's a huge 176-page hardcover and was curated by George Lucas himself. The book is still available to buy too!

The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide

The latest flip through on my YouTube channel is for the newly released book, The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide. It's a 96-page hardcover that features the artwork behind the game's DLC, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide, and some other extras including key art and load screens.

The artwork is stunning as expected, however, it would have benefited greatly from more pages, and even the choices they made with what they did include, aren't always great. For fans wanting more artwork you get some wonderful stuff, but for those wanting unused ideas, insights, and concepts, you won't find that here.

Lost in Cult revealed Faith: Design Works today, after teasing the book in January. The 200 page volume will dive into the development of Faith and its visuals, through interviews, artwork, screenshots, and more.
A Deluxe Edition is also available with a notebook, slipcase, and cassette if you want some unique extras. It's not out until early next year, but you can get an order in now, with the Deluxe Edition being available until the end of June.

The Design Works series has been fantastic at getting into the nerdy details of games that fans love, while being presented in well-made and designed books.

Another roundup video is now love and it's the first time I haven't reported any delays!
Not only that, but April came with 14 new book reveals for games, shows, movies, and more, so there was a lot to share this month. This includes artbooks for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, KPop Demon Hunters, Avengers: Doomsday, and The Fifth Element.

I also touch on the Marvel Studios layoffs too, as it was impossible to ignore.

I hope you find the video useful!
