A totally normal video about Supergirl by Troyoboyo 17

This is a video I think this sub really needs to see. Ot basically goes over everything that has been discussed here over the past week, except more professionally, and normally. It has become increasingly exhausting to think about this movie, and I think we all needed someone like this to just say what we need to hear without being so over the top. Please be normal guys.

The thing about the next time.

This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I was busy.

So, we're finally here. The waiting period that everyone has been dreading. Now, to be honest this is an episode I'm actually really excited for for reasons I'll explain in a bit. But yeah, there's a lot of people worried that this period is going to be awful. In fact, so far that's all I've seen on the sub. Granted part if that is probably because the main thing everyone was dreading has been banned by the mods (THANK GOD) but there's still a discussion to be had about constantly talking about how bad things are. If you look at the Supergirl sub, it's all Doom and gloom and it completely discouraged me from talking about the movie despite liking it. Let's not make the same mistake here. Instead of talking about how bad things will be, talk about what is good about this matchup. Here, I'll start:

My main reason for being excited for this episodes is due to 2 things. 1, this is an elemental fight that will feature wind, fire, air and water all over the place. The animation practically is guaranteed to be beautiful, it's going to give the animators a LOT to work with. And 2, Avatar now has an opportunity to have its first amazing episode that it deserves. Aang imparticular has one of the worst portrails of any character on the show despite only being the second worst treated in that episode. So giving him an opportunity to redeem himself is a definite sell for me.

Now look, I'm not saying that you can't be nervous for the episode or the waiting period on here. It's totally normal to feel these things, especially with controversial topics like with Genshin. But that doesn't mean you have to just throw your hands in the air and succumb to the misery. That is the kind of attitude that draws people away from fanbases. It's why I immediately left the sub for a month when Bakugo vs Reze was announced. But that's a matchup no-one likes and doesn't have anything to admire when just looking at the matchup. This is one that has things to like about it, and I'd love to see some of that being talked about.

That's all I have to say, if you really don't like this matchup that's fine. But if you are just worried the waiting period is going to be garbage, you have the power to change that. It's going to be ok.

This is the first time I've been more excited for the analysis than the actual fight.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still really looking forward to the fight. There's a lot you can do with it and I'm sure it'll be very entertaining. But for these characters, I'm even more excited for how they address these 2's stories and insane powers given previous analysis sections. Episodes like Goku vs Superman 3, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash and Ghostrider vs Spawn are what I'm looking for here. A great summary of their stories, some talk about their ridiculous powers, a little bit of scailing talk, and ultimately ending with what makes these 2 stand out compared to other Superman characters. I'm also very much looking forward to reactions to these episodes, people who think this is just evil Superman vs kid Superman are going to be floored and I'm going to love it. Sentry's teaser looks like it's heading in the right direction, and I hope they make these 2 look like something so much more than just Superman characters. Because they really are so much more.

Takes of various degrees. Probably my last one.

Just to add on to the Devil Artemis one for a second, I'm not saying there was no one harassing him on this sub. What I am saying is 1) they were very few and far between here, mist of the harassment was people harassing each other, and 2) He had other reasons to leave, so blaming this sub for it isn't very fair. Maybe this had some impact, but until he straight up says that we are the reason he left, I'm not convinced its this subs fault. Especially when there were always 100 posts a day supporting him.

One last discussion about Yuji vs Denji's release.

Hi nerds

So Yuji vs Denji is releasing in about a week, and I think we're all excited for it. This is actually the first time that a matchup from my top 50 has happened, so that's cool. But before this ends, I wanted to make a post to get something off my chest. See, I released a post right after Yuji vs Denji was revealed ranting about my thoughts on it. That post is gone now because I realised it was very mean and angry, and I don't think that's what this deserves. So, while I know you've all probably moved on by now, I wanted to make one last post talking about exactly where my dislike of this announcement came from. If I get anything wrong here, please just be respectful in the comments. Here we go.

Now obviously, this distain didn't come because I don't like the matchup, like I said, this one was among my most wanted. But the problem came because of 2 main things:

  1. This matchup is huge, as it's essentially the modern day equivalent of Naruto vs Ichigo. The 2 big shonen anime protagonists facing off. And yet, they simply plopped it in as just the 5th episode of the year. This always felt like it should be either the opener, or finale of the season/year. Maybe this one's more a me thing, but it never sit right with me that this one was just treated as another episode. But I could excuse this if it was just the right time to do it. Which leads us onto:

  2. You all know what this one is. This episode came a mear 1 episode after Bakugo vs Reze. Now we can all say what we want about the episode and matchup, and you know I have, but regardless of all of that, it absolutely should not have been made so close to this one. Having both of these episodes so close together invites burnout, and it makes it worse when the first one was also against a series we've seen twice in a year before then. This is exactly what made people switch off of Marvel vs DC, because it was so overused that people just got sick of it. This is that, except worse. Because a) Marvel and DC are MUCH bigger and have much more to talk about, and b) those episodes were usually at least spread out by 2 or 3 episodes. Not only does having 2 Chainsaw Man episodes so close make them feel dull even if they're good, but they're against series we've already seen very recently. All of this combined is why My hero, JJK, and Chainsaw Man all feel overexposed. Because they unfortunately are.

Now I know the immediate counterpoint to this are that Death Battle needs to focus on matchups that make money. Now I understand this, however I have 2 counterpoints:

  1. Cell vs Metal Sonic and Gru vs Megamind were 2 episodes that were already destined to make money. At the very least I think bith episodes in-between them also having that excuse is a little excessive. There's only so many times you can use that excuse before it starts to feel hollow.

  2. Even if it is a valid reason to do a matchup, that doesn't make the scheduling better. They did tons of Marvel vs DC matchups because they get views, but they were usually spread out throughout the season instead of being so close together. So while I could understand doing both of these matchups individually, they at least should be a little bit apart.

Now, there's a theory going around that might explain why these 2 are so close together. This theory is that they were originally going to do just Yuji vs Denji, but due to the manga doing something I'm not familiar with (feel free to explain this better in the comments) they decided to push it back and needed another matchup to fill its spot. And since Bakugo vs Reze featured 2 series they already researched, and is (or was) popular, they chose to do that one. A lot of people seem to be content with this theory. Personally, I'm not. I don't think it makes these 2 being so close together any better, and all it really does is make Bakugo vs Reze look even more pointless. Honestly if it us true, that's the worst reason to do a matchup since Raven vs Twilight.

Now I NEED TO STRESS, this is a THEORY. The truth is we don't know why they released these 2 matchups so close and we probably never will. The only thing they have told us is that anime is now their bread and butter, meaning it's now replacing Marvel and DC as their overused medium. Like I said, it was bad with Marvel and DC, but at least there they had so much to talk about and there was always something new to say. With some exceptions like Wonder Women vs She Ra. But doing all of these episodes so close on series like these, that are contained and all thing considered are decently short, that's why this feels so mundane. Have any of you noticed that when people talk about there being too much anime, Simon vs Kyle is almost never brought up. That's likely because his series is new on Death Battle, and likely isn't getting another episode. The other 3 are, and it's going to make people dread it. All because they did one of the biggest and most important anime matchups, almost immediately after a matchup so controversial, and with the same series.

I'm excited for Yuji vs Denji. I'm sure the episode will be good, and I think the previews are promising. Maybe in a few years, we'll all look at this more fondly like we do with Marvel vs DC. But it won't take away from the fact that I looked at one of my most wanted matchups, with just a stern face. And while I'm sure the episode will be good, the reveal of it, and the lack of waiting for it between the last CM episode, was not. (This is all without mentioning how draining Bakugo vs Reze was for me, and for a lot of us. We all just desperately needed more of a break from these 2 series.)

Rooting Both, Betting Yuji

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to wash the taste of this put of my mouth with My Dress Up Darling.
