Trees in Texas Hill Country
Trying to get into Whittling, I live on 5 acres of short trees and bramble in the Texas Hill Country area. Can ya'll identify these trees for me so I can see if they're good for Whittling?
First 3 photos are of a larger tree that a storm felled. It has an inner core that looks kinda reddish and then a thick outer ring of grayish wood before the bark.
Second 2 are of another I'm pretty sure is separate.
Final 2 are of a live tree that I've always been curious about because of its smooth flaky white bark.
Just trying to identify these trees, not looking for Whittling tips necessarily but will gladly accept those as well.
