Looking for a 4 man co-op game

So long story short one of my friends has very limited time to play games and seems to lose interest in time sync games.

We've tried Valheim, WoW, Deep rock Galactic, Monster hunter world, subnautica and a bunch of quick friend slop games.

He seemed to enjoy the friend slop games but those only have so much playability. He really liked Baldur's Gate 3 but we've overplayed it at this point and doesn't seem to vibe with the survival crafting type games or arpgs. The only other thing is one more guy in my group has a decent amount of time but just doesn't like shooters.

So open to anything thats not super repetitive but has some sort of meaningful progression. I know its a tall ask but if anyone could help I'd be very appreciative.

Thank you!

Looking for Co-op/Multiplayer Story-Based Campaigns that can be Beaten in 5 Hours or Less

I'm looking for some games with story-based campaigns that I can beat with 1-4 friends in 2 nights or less. I can think of a few that I've had fun with, such as Dead Rising 2: Case West or the Launch Campaigns of L4D1, but most others are typically longer than those. Since we all have busy lives, getting a consistent group together for more than 2 nights is difficult.

I'm not asking for games that push the limit or that can TECHNICALLY be beaten in that time frame if you rush like A Way Out. I'm asking for games that can RELIABLY be beaten in 5 hours or less, even when playing with people who don't typically play games.

Does this trailer look fun to play with friends, and does it clearly explain the gameplay? Feel free to be brutal!

38M | GMT+8 | Looking to make friends and play games together.

As the title stated, am looking to make connections through gaming, reading, going on holidays, etc. Life is too short to spend on working, doom scrolling and bed rotting 😅

Am currently playing :

Gothic 1 Remake

Wuthering Waves

I have interests in playing any other coop survival crafting open world game but money is tight so cant spend much 😅 though I have plenty of other coop games in my steam.

Are there any cooperative “survival” games left that don't feel like a second full-time job?

A friend and I used to love survival games, but now we only have about 2 hours a day to play. Most games in this genre require 50 hours of chopping down trees and mining ore just to build a simple base. We just want to have some fun, explore the world, and make progress—without any ridiculous grind.

Does this trailer communicate the co-op clearly?

I'm working on the trailer for my game, and one thing I'm really trying to communicate is that you actually have to work together to survive.

Do these clips make that clear, or does it still look like two players just doing their own thing?

Feel free to shoot us a wishlist if you are interested in seeing where this goes :D

Saboteur — a pass-the-phone party drawing game where one of you is secretly faking it (no sign-up, no download)

Thanks for checking it out! Saboteur is a local party game you play by passing ONE phone around — fitting for this sub: no accounts, no download, no data collection.

✅ Runs in any standard browser — desktop (draw with the mouse) OR phone (touch). It's a pass-the-phone local game, so it shines with a group, but you can click through the whole flow solo on desktop to see how it works.

How it works: everyone gets the same secret word and adds one stroke to a shared drawing… except one player (the impostor) who has no idea what the word is and has to bluff. Then you discuss and vote on who was faking it.

A few things that make it spicy:

- 🎭 The impostor can SABOTAGE someone's turn — mess up another player's drawing to throw the suspicion onto them.

- ⚙️ Lots to customize: rounds, turn style, number of impostors, sabotage rules, hints for the impostor, plus quick presets (Quick / Classic / Chaos).

- 🌍 6 languages, runs offline once loaded.

Honestly I picture it for those in-between moments — at the pub, during a boring lecture, or at work when you're bored and just want to kill some time together. It's still an early demo, so I'm updating it often based on feedback.

Would love feedback on: is the impostor too easy/hard to catch, and is anything confusing in the first 30 seconds? 🙏

[UPDATE] 9 months ago i asked for couch coop games for couples, here is my feedback about the recommendations!

Hello!

So, about 9 months ago i made this post, asking about good couch coop games for couples, and (to my very pleasant surprise) a LOT of you guys came with plenty of suggestions, and i'm happy to admit that there where some bangers through all of the recommendations, here are my feedback of some of them that i played:

  • Cult of the Lamb:
    • No doubt, this is one of the GREATEST couch co-op games that me and my wife have played, it had everything: great artwork/graphics, good controls, combined 2 genres each of us liked the most (me: roguelites, her: management games / cozy games). It "clicked" exactly like Stardew Valley did, we would spend HOURS in the weekend playing, we are close to 100% completion and we keep finding new things to do, it really is a "one of a kind", we will have a hard time finding a game that even scratches the itch that this one did, hell of a recommendation!
  • Baldur's Gate 3:
    • Surprisingly, this one didn't work out. We found the game to be very slow compared to the rhythm that we are familiar with. Playing this one we found out that turn-based RPGs are not our cup of tea, even though this one seemed like a whole bunch of content, we had trouble being newcomers to the genre and didn't catch the grip of the gameplay loop. Not a bad game, at all, just not our type of game.
  • Dysmantle:
    • This is a case of "when too much, is too much": game has a LOT to do, a big open-world, a lot of quests, etc. But... the core gameplay loop is not quite engaging: you break, you loot, you craft, you kill things, repeat. Crafting better tools takes a while and is not that entertaining (atleast for us), and the split-screen mechanics doesn't seem very thought out, but that's the case when it comes to games who where primarily single-player focused. Again, not a bad game, but quite mediocre.
  • Sedap:
    • Another certified BANGER. This is one of those games where we thought to ourselves "Why we never saw this anywhere before?". Similar to Cult of the Lamb this one combines two genres that we each other love: Combat and Cooking. It's fun and entertaining and gets REALLY HARD on the later levels. Both the combat mechanics and the cooking minigames were really satisfying to play, we had a great time with this one and it is a GREAT game solely because of it's innovative concept.

We are still looking up the comments in my older post and finding new games to play (there is still a lot of games in there, we certainly will be entertained for a good while)

We are yet to finish Cult of the Lamb, and when we do so, we plan to play Brothers: A Tale of Two Souls, after that, we may search the other post for another recommendation.

Thank you all to who commented on my other post, and any new recommendations are very welcome!

We wanted to make a co-op construction game. Somehow it turned into this:

I’ve spent the last year developing my co-op construction game - The Gastarbeiters

It’s a chaotic construction game where nothing goes according to plan, inspired by the co-op chaos of PEAK, R.E.P.O. and Content Warning

If you like the game, you can support us by adding it to your wishlist - STEAM PAGE ❤️

Looking for cross-platform recommendations 2026! (NS2/PS5)

I am in a Discord server with primarily PS5 players - I only have a Nintendo Switch (both OG and 2). We’ve recently done a 100% play-through of Big Walk.

I’ve searched through a few threads, but a lot of them are a few years old now. So looking for some updated recommendations that support cross-platform online play between both consoles.

We have historically played:
- Minecraft
- Fall Guys
- Content Warning
- Among Us

We’ve also downloaded Overcooked! AYCE to play at some point soon.

Please let me know of any recommendations for existing and future games. Thank you!

Looking for fun 2 player co-op games

Hi

I'm looking for some co-op game recommendations to play with a friend.

We're not looking for story-driven games or games with a co-op campaign, like It Takes Two, Space Marine 2 or Halo.

Thanks in advance !

What game looks like a single-player game but secretly has a great co-op mode?

I feel like some of the best co-op experiences are hiding inside games that most people think of as single-player.

Maybe the co-op was added later. Maybe it is buried in a separate mode. Maybe the game was just marketed so heavily around the solo experience that nobody talks about playing it with someone else.

What games have surprisingly good co-op that more people should know about?

Popular games are welcome. Hidden gems are even better.

For science, I tried out a couple of those matchmaking apps and these are my experiences

Something a bit different that I haven’t seen on this sub before, but could be of passing interest if you don’t have someone close to you to game with. I am thankful I have my newly-inducted gamer wife (who is sad that Hela’s release got pushed to later this year… but maybe if it will come at the same time as Water Me & You if we’re lucky), but she’s couch co-op only so I have to find my other multiplayer joys and sorrows elsewhere.

Hence in the interest of pure science, I spent a couple weeks this summer going through a whole pile of matchmaking apps. (read: I was bored, burned out on single-player, and wondering whether the "Tinder for gamers" pitch actually holds up for any of them)

My review notes below, though bear in mind this is my 100% biased subjective experience. So without further more ado, and in no order in particular (though you’d be forgiven for mixing them up as most have Game as part of their name, but of course):

  • GameTree - It tries to sell that brand of matchmaking that matches “personalities” (a lot of these below do as well) so in theory it pairs you by temperament and taste rather than just plays the same game. Which I consider bullshit myself. It also has a Disc bot but I’m not a mod so it wasn’t useful to me. Cons: it's buggy, the chat lags, logins can fail, and it's absolutely riddled with dead profiles and obvious bots. Finding a real player was a task, so I’d say pass on this one.
  • Gameram - Pretty good one, as it actually has community reviews so you instantly know who to avoid. The age filter works like a charm and actually gives me people my own age. Supports all consoles and PC, and a helluva lot of games as well. Most people just play League, DOTA 2 or shooters though, but I found some dedicated people for Elden Ring co-op (including PvP) and more niche stuff so it’s worth a try if you don’t mind the fact you need to install it on your phone. It feels like a Facebook for gamers a bit because of the interface too, lol
  • GamerLink - Huge number of games to match for, and specifically lets you filter for people who actually use a mic, oddly specific. Seemed OK but in practice it’s also laggy and prone to crashing, and, and the moderation is bad. I ran into some seriously grim content in the group listings. So be warned in that regard. I matched with a cool fella for Arc Raiders so that’s something…
  • Plink - The only notable feature I found is the stats tracker for your multiplayer sessions. It's fine, but it basically forces you toward paid access pretty fast after signing up, and the list of games you can match for is kind of limited, and is clearly built for mobile. Kind of hard sell if you’re a PC player primarily (like me)
  • Coya - More optimized than the lot of these, I had a good time with people. It’s also got solid filtering options (game, platform, rank, age). It also keeps voice, video and screenshare inside the app itself, which does NOT crash which I was expecting at some point, so I never had to ask people to just switch to Disc. Actually recommend this one, it’s not held together by tape and the community is good
  • Noobly - I would describe it as a swiping app, it’s very big and you will quickly match with people but it’s mostly for really quick sessions and you won’t ever find a regular duo partner. Also, beware - lots and lots of kids here because Genshin and PUBG are the most popular games. It feels a bit shallow, but the vibe is friendly from the little I chatted with people

So... my conclusion after this trip to LFG hell, after all that? TBH none of them beat just playing with people you already know. But if you got no one to play with, I guess some of these are worth a shot at least for the novelty factor . My personal recommendations are Gameram and Coya, but this is (again) just personal experience. Playing with people you actually know is still un matched!

Any experiences you have to share if you use these apps on the regular? (not necessarily these ones I listed ofc)

What you think about our new trailer for our first game on Steam?

Please watch the new trailer and provide some feedback. Do you understand what’s the game about? Is it annoying? How about sounds? Thank you.
