It seems that if the water level consistently fills only about half the height of the channel, the plants should be able to get oxygen from the air in the upper half of the channel, just as they do in a Kratky system. What am I missing?
At first, I was planning on painting mine, but I know that some amount of light will still shine through a few layers of paint. I've seen a number of videos in which IBCs are covered in some kind of reflective, foil-like material, but I'm not familiar with what this material is, nor how I would go about applying it. What do people here like to use?
Hi all. I'm a total beginner at all this. I'm planning to start with a simple IBC cut-and-flip system. However, all the plans and guides for these systems that I have seen are media-based. I would prefer to use rafts, if possible. My question is whether that a simple substitution or if there are other considerations I need to keep in mind as I attempt this.

I have what is probably my best run yet currently in progress. I just defeated Yog. I have 17 healing potions left, and a bunch of other consumables as well. I'm thinking about attempting the pacifist ascent (again), but last time I tried it I got slaughtered on floor 7 or so, and I'm hesitant to try again without a better strategy. Are there certain items that one should have to pull it off, or some strategy other than just drinking lots of healing potions while trying to run toward the stairways?
Edit add: Also, how do allies impact the pacifist ascent? If allies attack enemies, does that break the pacifism?
Hi all. I'm looking for info on growing Pan Cyans. I've seen a few old recipes/teks on the shroomery, but I'm more interested in understanding what the key parameters are so that I can adapt the grow to my situation. Any key points about what needs to be (or really should be) in the substrate? The easiest for me would be a 50-50 mix of manure/coir. Will this work?
