Is the original ninebot max g2 fork compatible with the new 2025 updated drum brake? I have the new drum brake and cable, I'm planning to just saw off (if possible) this metal piece on the fork holding the old brake cable, which I'm going to remove.

I just want to make sure the old fork is compatible. I'm not against buying a new, I'm just curious if the old fork is compatible.

edit: I'm thinking I should be good to go if I cut off the metal tab carefully as not to stress the part that mounts to the wheel, and then reseal with black paint to avoid rust. Will probably just go for it and and test.

The installation did NOT go smoothly, I had many choice words for these foam pads. I managed to get all the foam pads on, some worse for wear and some makeshift from a couple from the extra pads not needed from the GT3 battery.

I think my biggest issue was not heating the full pad and just the part I was trying to take off, and maybe using too much heat. I was careful not to get the battery too hot, but I think a hairdryer would've been a better tool, or at least dial on the temp first.

Its absolutely worth the small extra weight, but I do notice it. Thankfully the scooter is still super light.

I didn't realize some train tracks were coming up and I hit them at 30mph. They were quite a doozy.

I was hoping it just knocked the bead off, but I had just checked the tire pressure a few hours ago so I had a feeling it might be something worse.

After the uber of shame, the next morning I can't get it set and noticed something looks off.

Does it look bent to y'all? I'm pretty sure it is, but would appreciate some expert input.
