Trump unleashes bombshell endorsement of Ken Paxton in Texas Senate race

Trump unleashes bombshell endorsement of Ken Paxton in Texas Senate race

  • On Tuesday President Donald Trump endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for U.S. Senate, praising him as a "strong America First conservative" and a loyal supporter of his political movement.
  • In a Truth Social post, Trump said he had "known Ken well" and described him as a "winner" who has been tested at the highest levels of politics. He also highlighted Paxton's support for key GOP priorities, including efforts to end the Senate filibuster, expand domestic energy production, strengthen border security, and advance conservative education and tax policies.
  • Trump contrasted Paxton with incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, saying he had worked with Cornyn but arguing the senator had not been sufficiently supportive during key political battles.
  • "John Cornyn is a good man, and I worked well with him, but he was not supportive of me when times were tough," Trump declared. "John was very late in backing me in what turned out to be a Historic Run for the Republican Nomination."
