I feel like I’m going to ruin this kittens future

I have a 3 week old kitten I’m fostering for a shelter. To put it simply, I think he’s miserable. He fights the syringe and bottle so I’m practically force feeding him (I go very slow and carefully so he doesn’t aspirate. Feeding takes up to an hour!) I know he hates his feeding sessions because he mews and tries to back away from the syringe every time I feed him.

Then, every time I try to hold him he’s mewing and trying to squirm away, like he doesn’t like human contact. I feel like I’m raising him for failure, and that he’s gonna hate people when he’s older because of me ): I’ve tried spending a lot of one on one time with him and grooming him with a toothbrush to make positive associations, but it’s just not working.

Has anyone else had spicy bottle babies? What did you do? Any help is appreciated!

Having to send kitten to the county shelter

On Wednesday I found a kitten in my backyard with a broken tail. Gosh I fell in love with her completely. She’s such a snuggle bug, but I already have a lot of animals and taking on another just isn’t feasible. I tried calling every rescue around here and they are at capacity. I called the animal shelter and they suggested I foster her for 72 hours so she will be out of quarantine (there’s a pan leuk outbreak at the shelter right now).

They gave her her vaccines and dewormed her before I took her home. Now it’s the end of the 72 hours and I have to bring her back to the shelter today.

My question is, will she be euthanized for a broken tail? I wouldn’t think they would go through the trouble of vaccinating/ deworming and having me foster if that was the case, but maybe I’m wrong?

I can’t shake I’m doing the wrong thing here by sending her to a shelter. But I really don’t know what other choice I have especially now that she’s in their system. I need advice and words of encouragement here. I’m so upset I couldn’t sleep last night at all.

Why is this happening?

This is a custom paint by number by Number Artist. If the paint isn’t layered on extra thick, these lines show from the canvas. How do I fix this? It’s almost as if the canvas is very textured.
