Question about winter driving.

I’m considering giving up my SUV for something smaller and very much leaning towards the GLI. With a set of snow tires and common sense of winter driving does, the GLI preform well ?

Help identifying this little guy [Southern Ontario, Canada]

I've lived in this neighborhood for over 40 years and have never seen anything like this. I think it's a type of weasels? Sorry for the quality of video. Appreciate any info.
